I know about the sound problems topic. It helped limit the annoying sound pops (painful when you play with headphones) but it didn't stopped them completely.

But on top of these sounds problems, I got some serious slowdowns (which I suspect are the reason of the persistence of those sound problems). It happen only when there's a constant action or animation on screen (it happens in every scene where there's a fire burning, for example or snow falling). Sometimes the entire action is slowed down (the worst part was the ending sequence where there is a LOT of sprites being animated at the same time) or there's only a slight slowdown but with huge pauses before the lines of dialogue are actually heard.

I set my CPU cycles at 10000 (not any higher to avoid a problem in Day 6). If you need any more info, just ask.

Thanks in advance.

yeah this was annoying, i finished the game and endured it, for example in rittersberg i had to wait 2-3 additional seconds delay before the program managed to play the narrator description of any object, dialogues in such places where real pain, with every person thinking a few seconds before replying.

i don't think it had anything to do with the background animation though but with the background sound. There was no problem in jackson square with all the people walking, musicians playing etc. and castle bedroom had only fire animated

Au contraire. The game seems to animate sprite just fine, but seems to slow down if there's a constant background animation (like snow falling or fire). That was most annoying in the ending.

I just hope that somebody will finally help me with this problem.
