This thread is started on a tip from Gydion (forum member).
I will post random facts about the games whenever I remember them.
Also feel free to ask me about random stuff which I can post the answers to, or post your own random facts.

SPOILERS MAY APPEAR!

Copy-pasted from the original post made as an off-topic post in a recent thread;

Random facts about where the actors come from:

-I believe Wolff Muser (Doktor Klingmann) is either german or of german decent.
-Clement von Franckenstein (Von Aigner) is austrian.
-Rosemarie Belden (Frau Miller, nasty woman at the Ludwigmuseum) was born in Germany.
-Mary Stavin (reporter in act 3) is actually swedish XD.
-Karl Lienhof (Father Getz) I also believe to be german, since I find no references to him what so ever other than to his role in GK2.
-Endre Hules (Claus Immerding) is hungarian.
-Brigitte Kozub (Lady at the Rittersberg post office) has no other references either, so I'm guessing she's of european decent at the least. Her name strikes me as being german/austrian/eastern european and she does speak german very well.

The rest of the main characters are mostly american or british, but a few of the smaller roles are played by single-roled actors with european names. Most of the extras are either british or american.

More random posts to follow. :p

The voice acting from GK1 Sins of the Fathers, included;
-Tim Curry as Gabriel (every GK-fan will know this, I know)
-Mark Hamill as Mosely (I pity the ones who doesn't know the name of the actor behind Luke Skywalker)
-Leah Rimini as Grace (later known to many as the wife in King of Queens series)
-Michael Dorn as Doctor Jones (Worf from Star Trek TNG)

Of the main character actors from the FMV GK2; The Beast within, only one somewhat made a name of himself later on;
Peter J. Lucas, who played Baron Friedrich von Glower has featured in 45 titles, mostly within TV-series.
Dean Ericson had a recurring role as a bartender/caféhost in the Frasier series during the late nineties, but kinda dropped off the face of the earth afterwards.

-Clement von Franckenstein (Von Aigner), had been a successful actor since the seventies (108 titles)

-Nicholas Worth (Kriminalkommissar Leber), had his first appearance in 1966. (96 titles) Nicholas Worth died in 2007 from heartfailure.

-Kay Kuter (Werner Huber) started his career in 1951, and did both motion pictures and videogames as well as stageplays all the way up to his death in 2003. His last title, Forbidden Warrior, was released in 2005.
A tidbit for the proper gamers; Kay Kuter was the voiceactor of Griswold Goodsoup in The Curse of Monkey Island, as well as the Dockmaster and Croupier in Grim Fandango :)

Facts copypasted from IMBD;
The character Gabriel Knight ranked #2 in Computer Gaming World's November 1996 listing of the 15 most memorable game heroes.

In GK2 when Gabriel asks his lawyer about the "Koeniglich Bayrische Hofjagdloge" his pronunciation is so bad that not even German native speakers could understand a single word of it. However Gabriel's lawyer does, although he admits he never heard that term before.
The Wandering Jew, from GK3 is a real life myth. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wandering_Jew

GK3 is heavily inspired by The Holy Blood and the Holy Grail-book, which made the theory in the game quite similar to Dan Brown's theories in The DaVinci code, as his book was written with a lot of research from Holy Blood, Holy grail.

All main locations in the three games are based on real locations, although somewhat revised to fit the storylines.
You can for instance visit New Orleans and find the church, the graveyard and the square.

In Germany you can go to Marienplatz to view the famous glockenspiel, travel with the subway, and visit the museums as well as the memorialchapel, although the Neuschwanstein castle Singer's Hall-painting were altered in the game to fit the plot.

Rennes-le-Chateu is a real life village in the french mountains, quite a bit larger than it is presented as in the game, but the church is animated almost exactly how it looks like irl. The area around the village was changed to make the game believable, but the conspiracytheories containing and surrounding the village is still alive today.
Hi Minya, nice thread.

So what about the actors that played Gabriel and Grace in GK2? They didn't do anything else worth mentioning?

Acting in FMV games was not the best career path unfortunately for them...

He did mention Gabriel's Actor (Dean Ericson), he just forgot to label him as such. As for Grace's actress, you can see her IMDB page here

Hi, sorry I forgot to label Gabriel on that one. Reposting that point of interest;

Dean Ericson (Gabriel) had a recurring role as a bartender/caféhost in the Frasier series during the late nineties, but kinda dropped off the face of the earth afterwards.

As for Joanne Takahashi (Grace), she had small roles in 17 titles, and the only one worth mentioning must be the single episode she had in Babylon 5. :p

Oops, my bad.
Most of the voodoo-lore in GK1 is actually true historical references to the real voodocults that originated on Haiti. Tetelo on the other hand, is purely fictional, although there are powerful spirits of the likeness in the Voodoo religion.

The images from the Lycanthropes; Lore and Law-book from GK2, has been used in some werewolf films as well.

Emilio Baza (GK3) was voiced by Billy West, who's the voice behind Professor Farnsworth, Zapp Brannigan and Dr Zoidberg in Futurama. He also voiced Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd in Space Jam.

No worries ;)

Philippe Bergeron voiced the fantastically gay-acting Jean, the hotel receptionist in GK3.
Anyone else than me that both loved him and felt like barfing whenever you spoke to him? XD

Edmund L. Shaff (Herr Hennemann) have 58 actingtitles to his name, ranging from Falcon Crest to Desperate Housewifes.
I recently reviewed Babylon 5 and was surprised to see him there as well in a small role of a businessman.

Judith Drake (Mrs Smith) have 68 titles, most of them in basically any type of tvseries. In Armageddon (1998), and quite a lot of other films and series, she played a nurse.
Lately she's been in NCIS and How I Met Your Mother.
The voodoo paraphernalia mentioned in GK1 are generally accurate. Wade Davis, in "The Serpent and the Rainbow", corroborates the fact that Haitian voodoo rituals include such paraphernalia as a gourd rattle called an "asson," a whip called a "fwet kash," and a small coffin called a "sekey madoule" (or just "madoule").
Indeed, they are, good fact Paviel :)
Here's another random fact that's not really about the GK series per se, but is particularly interesting in light of the GK series.

According to Wikipedia's entry on Ogoun, in the syncretistic traditions of Brazil, Ogoun is associated with St. George.
:O I didn't know that, another good one there!
Been a long time since I last made an entry here, but for the few of you that still love weird facts, here are a few new ones I've encountered.

Wolf Muser (Herr Doctor Klingmann) was born on October 23, 1950 in Esslingen am Neckar, Baden-Württemberg, Germany

I've recently reviewed the 80's tv-series MacGyver, and to my surprise and delight (I literally squealed) I found that so far (I've only reached the end of the fourth season) two of the actors from GK2 also had each one role in the MacGyver series.

The first one was Nicholas Worth (Kriminal-Kommissar Leber), he had a small part as a member of the antagonist group in S2E15 - Pirates. Somewhat weird accent-wise, since I expected him to have a german accent, but he still had a weird kind of american english accent, couldn't place it though. Much squee was had XD

The second was Wolf Muser (Herr Doctor Klingmann), he had the part of the main antagonist in S4E17 - Easy Target.
And even though his german accent wasn't as pronounced in that episode, I still had to smirk a bit since he basically sounded exactly like Herr Doctor Klingmann whenever he spoke. :p
Ok, I know this is a 10 years old post but I just came across it and no one mentioned this:
Georg Immerding, the opera guy in GK2, is played by Brad Greenquist, better known for his role of Victor Pascow in the first Pet Sematary (the ghost with the head wound).
