I am stuck on chapter 4 and I honestly think that it is a bug. No matter how many times I come back to Schloss Ritter, Gerde won't tell me about the fax. I have consulted several walkthroughs and topics about this kind of problem, but nothing I do helps. I also realised too late that I don't have a savegame that's before the point of no return.

So, I know that most of the problems in chapter 4 are with the museums, but both the Ludwig Museum and Neuschweinstein aren't blinking, and I looked at everything in the Wagner museum for the 6th time already. The Black Cross is completed too.

Anyone has a solution for this bug or a chapter 4 savegame? Chapter 3 would probably be good as well, I can handle replaying it.

If you have spoken to Mr Chaphill (or whatshisface) on the phone about the diary, you should go downtown to look at the lily by the church. Father Getz should approach you and give you a lily, bring the lily to seeshaupt, put it in the water past the fence. That's usually what I forget to do that makes the fax appear at the postoffice.

Nope, done all that - placed the lily in the water and talked to Chaphill. It's definitely something else.

Hmm, have you looked at everything in the Ludwig and Wagnermuseums? Spoken to both the bitchy woman and Georg?

Already said I did - the Ludwig museum isn't flashing, and I looked at everything, and I mean Everything in the Wagner museum. Spoke to Georg as well.
Then at my last guess; have you written the daily letter to Gabriel?
If not, write it, post it and return to the castle.

If you have, I'm at a loss.

I've never had such problems playing the game, used to get the external errors a lot back in the days, but never gameplayproblems unless there was something I hadn't done.
I'm actually having the same issue right now too. I've written the letter to Gabriel and I posted it, and I've done everything above as well. There's no way this can't be a bug of some sort; I've done everything to this point to the letter, and I still can't get gerde to tell me about the fax. Anyone have any solutions for this at all?

Scratch that; I didn't talk to georg long enough to initiate the fax sequence.

I have played this game so many times over and over, and the later times I always remember what is supposed to happen next, but also forget how to make them happen. It seems you're stuck in an infinite loop of going back and forth to all the places you've seen before. But there is always one small thing you've forgotten. Like the Maria hat gehelfen-cards and silver bodyparts outside Altötting. Not looking at them at least a couple of times may prevent some other action. Also remember to go back to Wolfgang's casket and look at it if you seem stuck. At any rate, anywhere you have been before may have new and useful info that triggers events all over the place XD
I think the trick getting the fax is asking george about the wolf panels, you may have to go back to george the second time.

That might be another solution I haven't thought of since I always look at the panels myself :)

you do look at the wolf panels yourself but then go back to george & the wolf panels questions come up.

On the off chance that anyone stumbles across this post and still can't figure this out, I just solved it for myself. You do have to talk to Georg about the Wolf Panels in the Singer's Hall. My problem was Grace kept just saying she didn't have anything else to say to Georg. To get the dialogue option you have to click on the main wolf painting at Neushweinstein, then all of the panels, then the main painting again. I didn't realise this because Neuschweinstein wasn't flashing red despite not having heard the second thing she had to say about the main wolf painting.

I was in a similar position - I fixed it by clearing the castle (so it does not flash on the map) - after that, the fax should arrive.
There are few places in the castle where you need to also need to trigger the audio guide in order to clear it.
Hope this helps.
