Starting GK1 without walkthrough and want to make sure I know about any puzzles or mistakes that will prevent me from finishing the game.

Thanks everyone
Why not just play the game without thinking about it, BUT of course make loads af saves?
That's how we did it in the good old days. :D
Playing GK1 without a walkthrough isn't a very good idea, especially in the second half. There are times where you will be at risk of dying (SPOILERS!!!!!):

The first time you can die is when you go to the Voodoo Museum when the Dr John isn't there and it's dark. A snake will attack you and you will have to use the light switch.

The second time you can die is in the burial mound in Haiti. This involves major spoilers and I won't say anything more.

The third time you can die is in the finale.

Thank you, now I know where to make sure to do a save game. Great game, but getting used to the slow speed again is hard.

There are no puzzles where you could get stuck. The game won't let you progress if oyu haven't done everything.

There are also some puzzles you could, theoretically, solve the first day but the solution gets clearer (and easier) on later days.
GK1 has at least one dead-end, and it's near the end of the game. If you forget to hide two particular items for, Mosely, to find which are used to track, Gabriel, then there will be no backup during the finale.

As previously mentioned, save often in many scenarios to nullify potential back-tracking.

There are at least half-a-dozen situations that will kill Gabriel, and when he's dead there are no retries or continues. Golden rule of adventure games: Save early and save often.
