Used lasers to damage the enemy's weapon system and took it out of auto.

Sent my entire crew minus one over on their ship.

However, I forgot to power down the artillery cannon.

It had a great shot and blew their ship up with my entire crew in it!

Sad, but quite funny :) I'm wondering what would happen, if you send your crew and then enemy ship go FTL. I like the idea, that you will have chance to chase him and save your crew :)
I've done worse.

Spoiler Warning

I was fighting the rebel flagship with I believe it was the Type B Zoltan Cruiser, and I had my two Mantii dismantling its heavy laser. I decide to fire a salvo of hull lasers into the drone control, just to keep it suppressed and what happens? Its entire right half explodes and the rest of it jumps out of the sector, taking my entire boarding team with it.

That is correct, I wasn't keeping an eye on its hull integrity while my crew were over there. I certainly learned my lesson with that one.
I have actually lost two boarding parties (separate occassions) in the same run due to the artillery cannon. That was a tough go, some how managed to win that one in spite of myself (losing two BPs were not my only errors) and the poor weapon availability.

I've also lost boarding parties to ships FTLing out while they were still on board. Let's just say I've not yet mastered boarding exercises.
Also, when trying to disable an enemy ship's medbay, do not ever, under any circumstances, try to do so using a boarding party.
I've teleported back a crew member just as the flagship was jumping out. I saw the guy disappear (normal "beam me up" disintegration) just as the flaghip left.

He never reappeared on my ship.

I saw him leave the flagship.

He is... uh. I think I don't want to know.

Probably best to just yourself he is leading an energy based existence now.
That artillery beam thing happened to me too a couple of times, but even worse, once I wanted to jump aways with my crew still on the captured ship, but luckily a message pops up "Do you really want to..."so the developers did were not totally heartless.

I have only played the Federation Cruiser once so have not yet blown up my boarding party.

I have had my entire crew boarding the other ship and got the Trusty AI Achievement. The second time the ship went FTL and left my empty ship behind.

EDIT: I just blew up my boarding crew.

Now if this had a save and reload feature, then, well, I can just reload and continue where I left off.

I've lost count of how many times I've done that. Someday, the captain will be held accountable at a court martial, but the ships tend not to survive long after losing the away team.

The worst one came after I successfully captured a ship. I captured the vessel with 2 hull points left, but we were in a nebula, and didn't notice that fires had spread to life support and door control. I was organizing repairs on my own ship when I heard the first 'crunch', and saw the O2 icon turn orange. It took me only a second to realize what was happening, but that was long enough. I'd barely locked teleporters on my away team before the whole vessel splintered.
The Osprey is actually a surprisingly good boarding ship. It starts with four crew, including a rockman, and the beam allows you to focus on defenses while you search for a teleporter and ideally a second rockman. You just have to remember to keep the beam off after it's served its purpose.
lol I've done that before. I killed two Mantis that were fully upgraded in melee. It sucked

and when enemies board you, try to lure them into a fight in your own medbay :)
