Did a search, didn't notice another topic on this...

Just wonder if anyone else has seen this issue. I've got an Intel I5 Quad-core (Sandy Bridge) processor, and I noticed when I run FTL: Advanced, my CPU heat sink fan would spin up to keep the processor cool. I thought this was kind of odd, as FTL doesn't seem like a really CPU-intensive game.

So... I checked my CPU usage, and noticed FTL darn near pegs core #2 at 95-100%. The other 3 cores (0, 1, and 3) stick between 2-10%, barely seeing any use.

Anyone know if there's a solution for this?
Did some more googling, and found some old threads from a year or so ago. Apparently some other people have seen this and there have been reports saying forcing v-sync on fixing the issue, but with mixed results. I'll give that a try and see how it goes.
This is pretty normal for games still. Very few games actually use more than one core, even AAA games. Might be a couple of more years before it becomes standard practice to hire programmers for this task alone.

I've noticed it as well. What's more, FTL originally used my Nvidia, I had to change the settings to Intel HD 4k.

Unfortunately, I haven't found any solution for this.

maybe unrelated but is the frame-rate limiter/v-sync activated in the options? maybe the the CPU is fully loaded with feeding the GPU with data for thousands of frames?
