I can't seem to find any information on the subject, and was hoping to dive back into this game after a few years. Please let me know, thank you!

Looks like probably on most counts; however, FTL's Mac system requirements recommend a dedicated graphics card, and M1's seem to have an integrated GPU. That doesn't mean your new PC definitely won't run FTL, but it might not run it as well as if it had a discrete graphics chip.
On the other hand, even the Advanced Edition is several years old now, so even having integrated graphics on an otherwise brand-new, decent-spec laptop might not matter. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Due to the M1 having an ARM processor, it is more likely than not that it will not work but someone has to try it to find out and my understanding is Apple is working on that Rosetta translator so even if it may not work now, it might in the future. Not really a wise buy as an only computer if you like to play games.

I played it on my m1 mac mini, everything is alright, Rosetta is pretty fine, you just need to care if the game support 64bit
Nice :-)
