Yeah. For some reason I thought I read somewhere that you could use it for the first game too, or something. Or is there a different one just for the first game?

When you download Freespace Open there is a mod called FSport which is Freespace 1 in the Freespace Open engine. They even give you the cutscenes and make use of the original voice/game assets. Technically I'm not sure if they are allowed to do that, but since I bought Freespace 1 as well, I don't feel bad about it. :) The mod also contains some classic Freespace 1 mods and Silent Threat/Silent Threat Reborn (the latter is a fan made mod that was meant to improve upon Volition's official Silent Threat expansion which apparently a lot people found lacking)
