So, I wonder if anyone else is having the same problem as I do.

I bought it today and downloaded it.

First:
Loading takes forever. Waiting ten minutes for the game to boot seems unlikely.
I also couldn't open the task manager or get out of the game.
Even received an error message.
On my third try and after ten minutes, I could play the game.

Second:
No sound at all. If I turn the volume to the highest, I still do not hear anything.
No, my boxes are turned on and work just fine. I just tested it by playing a CD on my computer and watched videos on youtube.

I'm having a similar problem. Most particularly, the loading at the start of the game. You wouldn't be using a Lenovo Y50 with Windows 10 would you? That's what I'm using and I think it's related to my Intel HD Graphics 4600 video driver combined with Windows 10. I could be wrong though.

Same problem here. First two attempts crashed the entire system, now the game starts up properly but still takes more than 3 minutes to load which is unacceptable. Once the game loaded things are fine and in-game loading times are no problem.

I'm running the game on Win 7 64bit and this is the first time I'm having problems of this magnitude with a newly released game, seems it's not my system's fault. I hope they'll fix this asap, played for a couple hours and will continue tomorrow unless the game won't load. If the problem persists, I'll email support.

In its current state, I consider the game a broken product (GOG version 2.0.0.1).

No problem whatsoever.
Additional info: Geforce970, Intel I7-3770K

Please try the usual suspects: Disable secondary monitor, update card driver and OS patches and DirectX

Sorry for this! Not once during the beta did we encounter this problem, so we are working now hard to find a cause and fix it. We only have one programmer tho, so it might get sweaty :)

The game is heeavy with art, so thats why it loads like a crazy during startup but shouldnt load anything after that! Maybe it's related to integrated graphic cards and not a specific OS :O

Thank you for the response. The Lenovo Y50 I mentioned has a switchable graphics card, and when I switch it to the more powerful, dedicated card (GeForce GTX 860M) it runs just fine. However, I tried installing it on a much older laptop from 2008, also with integrated graphics (Intel) and no switchable graphics, and it loads much much quicker.

I think I have a clue why the sound did mnot work:
When I played last night, I tried to exit the game with the Windows-Button. It did not work and opening the task manager... well, I've got the feeling the game froze on me during the loading screen.

In any case, I just let the game load without any button input and now I've got sound.
Must habe been me for fiddling with my computer.

Also, aquick question about the loading screen:
The black hearts on the notes, are those supposed to get colour during the loading?
I just see the entire note, already filled and nothing happens. This throws me off, as I receive no notification how far the process is.

The loading screen doesn't change or anything, we had a battle just to have any sort of indication to show the player that the game is booting up :D It takes a while, especially on laptops if you are running on balanced / low battery performance.

So it seems we have a badboy intergrated gfx card making trouble to the game! We will continue the investigation and bug smashing!

I'm running the game on Intel HD Graphics which is the near equivalent of Intel HD 3000. I can run all the 2D graphics heavy Daedalic games without problems. Laptop battery is fully charged, not using any energy saving options since I only play at home when the laptop is connected to the grid.

Booting up Fran Bow takes 3 minutes on my system (2.2 GHz Intel Dual Core, 4 GB RAM, Win 7 64bit), once I'm in the game loading times are not a problem anymore. Never had a game that took so long to boot up so I'm wondering if there's any way to optimize initial loading times, that would be great.

Please tell me if I'm the only one with such problem. Hope, I'm not spoiling anything.

While in the house of the twins, when I use the pills in any of the rooms (outside - everything is fine) I appear in a completely white space with only few textures - Fran's and some blocks'. Restarting the game and pressing F4 didn't help, although after looking into the walkthrough (damn!) I managed to make everything in what happened to be a well "by touch". Same texture problem appeared after leaving the base-floor (small room was completely white) in the asylum.

Windows 10 Pro 32-bit
GeForce 8800 GT with the latest drivers
4GB RAM

No, the well worked just fine for me in chapter #2.
I didn't noticed anything being bugged.

Finished the game earlier on Sunday and I didn't encounter any in-game bugs and texture glitches or anything.

The game was made with Game Maker Studio so it could be engine related issues that might be difficult for the developer to fix. Same applies to AGS and Visionaire games, many of them have engine related glitches as experienced by a number of players.

That's my problem described on Steam, so I'm a bit nervous and don't want to continue, as there's the same bug in chapter 3, they say. Hope to see the patch today.
