After purchasing any item from the smith at the beginning of the game I am unable to trade money or items from or to characters who make the purchase.

I have tried characters tranferred from POR and from Hillsfar, as well as used the ready made party and newly created characters in Curse. I have unintalled and reinstalled the game multiple times, trying both the regular GoG version and the one for windows with sound.

I know nothing about DOSBox, not even how to get into it from GoG (which is why I purchased the GoG version) so if there is troubleshooting that needs to be done there please leave a detailed, step-by-step response.

I have tried to research this issue and have not found anyone else experiancing this problem.

Thanks for any assistance, I love this series and would like to continue it, but if I cannot trade money or items between characters I am at a loss.

well i just booted up the game, created a party of 6 chars, bought gear and traded items and gold
and it worked just fine for me
so i dunno what is going on with your install

edit: if it matters i am running off a Win 8 machine and used GOG Galaxy to launch

oh one thing to check is if your running the game as an admin, some people have fixed problems by simply making sure its running the game as an admin (i've noted this in other game's forum sections, so it can't hurt to check)

Thank you for the recommendation. When I loaded it up as admin it took care of the issue!!

Just out of curiosity, do you have your GOG folder located within your Program Files directory? Some older programs have issues issues running from there.

Whatever the case may be, you got running now though, so enjoy the game :)

Apologies for re-opening this..but I'm just going to add something that got me about this very thing.

If you flick to the next page, the cursor shifts over the next function rather than the buy function, because the machines are running fast, you can miss it. Then it looks like you're buying but you're actually shifting screens. I think it functions slightly different from Pools. (Or I'm a moron...very easy possibility)

Drove me around the bend for 30 mins.
