From Eob 1 to 2:
-Copy eobdata.sav file from Eob1 directory to Eob2 directory.

-Run Eob2 and choose "transfer Eob1 party" from main menu.

From Eob 2 to 3:
-Copy "final.sav" from Eob2 directory to Eob3 directory, it is automatically created when you win eob2. Or you can transfer any savegame, just copy "eobdataX.sav" to Eob3 directory.

-Run "charcopy.exe" which is located in Eob3 directory. Notice that you can only transfer first four characters of your party. If you want to take specific characters to Eob3 you must arrange your party beforehand in Eob2.
Alternatively you can skip charcopy -program and just copy savegame of your choice in Eob3 directory and rename it to "TRANSFER.SAV"

-Run game and choose "Summon the heroes of darkmoon" from main menu.

Thank you! This post helped me a lot, to get my party from EOB2 to EOB3.

The Character Import link, that GOG generates when installing the game, didn't work, but manually copying EBO2's final.sav and renaming it to transfer.sav worked like a charm.

Hello,

Would you be able to help me out please: I cannot find "eobdata.sav" in my computer. Is it meant to be in my computer, or should it be in an online thing with GOG? I can't tell. Sorry.

Depends on where you installed the game.

Default is going to be something like:

Program Files (x86) > GoG Galaxy > Games > Eye of the Beholder > cloud_saves

I just finished EotB. When I transfer the party to EotB II and try to save the game freezes or crashes. I put the save file from part 1 in the game directory of part 2. Any ideas? Creating a new party or using the premade one works fine.

Am wondering if anyone can help? I have followed the instruction on transferring characters from EOB2 to EOB3 and as soon as I start EOB3 my entire party is dead. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I'm having some real issues with transferring my party from 2 to 3.

Tried all of the above, but the game blocks me on the summon darkmoon heroes link. when i click it, it just brings up a box of text saying i need to run CHARCOPY to transfer characters. but I can't do this as WIN 10 won't run it, the DOSBOX option does nothing and there is nowhere else to turn.

Can anyone help?

I had the same issue and figured it out. I tried combinations of characters and found out it happend only, when I choose one particular. Then I went back to eob1, gave away all items of this character and voila it worked. after a lot back and forth I found out, it was the 20 arrows, this pc had in his inventory. without the arrows transfer and saving worked. weired issue...

rename the save file you want TRANSFER.SAV and drop it in the EOB3 folder. Skip the very beginning dos prompt character transfer part and go right into the game and select the 'summon heros' part and it should work.

Worked for me. Just made sure the characters I wanted were the first 4 in my party in EOB2.
