So, a couple of days ago I started playing Secret of the Silver Blades. It's a nice little fantasy and I'm enjoying it a lot.

I'm playing with my imported party from Curse of the Azure Bonds. I just cleared the Well of Knowledge. Since all of them are human except for my dwarf Fighter/Thief, I intend to bring my party into Pools of Darkness. The final party will look like this:

I have 3 Rangers, one of which was switched to Magic-user at level 11. The other two will continue as Rangers until they reach level 15, then they will switch to Magic-user. My other party members are a Paladin, a pure Cleric, and the dwarf Fighter/Thief. I will switch my Paladin to Cleric once he reaches level 13 and then when he gains back his Paladin levels, I will drop my pure Cleric and clone him. With all this class switching, I will definitely need tons of experience. So my question is: what is the best spot to grind levels in the game?

The observation I have is about the plot. I just couldn't help but notice the influence of Tolkien. I mean the whole "we dug too deep" and the Well of Knowledge which was guarded by a greedy red dragon guarding treasure made me think of Smaug.

The name Eldamar is also from Tolkien.

If you aren't against "cheating" of sorts, you could just do the early part of Pools of Darkness then remove characters, and "restart" Pools of Darkness with the same characters.

Dual classing at the hill giant fortress / town isn't too bad since you can use delayed blast fireballs to help clear the "inhabitants" of the other rooms to level up your freshly dual classed characters.
Mining for gems will give you XP quickly and can be done endlessly, just keep on playing the game and note which locations give you the most gems (and therefore XP) average per attempt.
In Pools of Darkness, I remember there being a bug in the game in one of the minor areas in the south east corner of the overworld map. The first time you complete this area there are several encounters and some hidden treasure, which you need to (L)ook for.

The bug causes hidden treasure to respawn after exiting / re-entering the map (while the encounters don't respawn). There is an experience reward for finding the treasure too, so if you repeat enough times you will hit the game's level 40 limit, if you break for training in the town next door when required

EDIT: It's the "Small Village" just SW of Mulmaster. The loose pile of loot respawns when exiting and entering the village, giving about 75K experience (divided between all party members) each visit.
