Hello. In Pool of Radiance, pressing 'Q' (in combat mode) enables the computer to control a party member during combat. Question is, how do I interrupt the command so I can regain control of the AI controlled members? I've tried slowing the game down and hitting 'ESC' while member is highlighted, tried hitting 'Q' on them, and actually tried all the keys on my keyboard during combat....to no avail. So right now, when my party enters combat, all the members have become AI controlled (I hoped turning them all over to the AI will somehow produce a prompt to regain control of the members again) and they're not good at using magic and ranged weapons.

What am I missing?

"spacebar" is the key you're looking for. The timing has to be just right, you need to press it after your character's turn starts but before the character takes an action (turning down the game speed will help a lot with this). So the best thing to do is simply keep spamming the spacebar until your characters stop being AI controlled.

Thanks 'skipper! Wouldn't you know, I discovered the answer right after I submitted my inquiry. Apparently there is a delay before it's actually posted and I couldn't edit it out. Anyway, don't know how I missed the spacebar when I thought I'd pressed everything on the keyboard.

Just put one of my fighters to sleep in my third fight. Oops. Hello reload. :)

I played the original Pools of Radiance when it came out. Fun revisiting it after so long away...
