Not sure if this a question for GOG fans or the developer of The All Seeing Eye software but here goes. I just installed ASE and was wondering, does the software have the maps coded in by level or does it make the maps as you move, using keystrokes? Also, are the maps stored somewhere on the hard drive or are the in memory only? And can you view a map for a level after you left the level?

ASE already has the maps (I believe the creator also put the official hintbook hints in as well), and you can show and hide them on command.
By default it draws the map as you move around, like in other dungeon crawlers.

The maps are stored on your harddrive, in your Eye of the Beholder\ASE folders.

To my knowledge you can't view a certain map if you're not on the map itself.

Hopefully that answers all your questions!

ASE reads the current map data from the game's memory and keeps track which map tiles you have visited. Like Gotcha said, you can't view other maps than the current that you're on. You can click "Export map" from the rightclick-menu if you want to save a map to a bmp-file. You can also use the included EOBx_Explorer tools to view full level maps.
