Hello,

Which version is better to play?
I mean bugs or any other problems.

Any suggestions?

Thx.

Having played both, they are roughly the same. There are little to no gameplay or graphical difference between the two. Might be slightly better music on the Amiga, but I don't recall a huge difference there either.

Hope this helps.

Definitely Amiga for EOB1. Gameplay etc is identical but it has a cut scene upon winning the game. PC version just has a lame text box before dumping you back into dos.
Otherwise, no difference. If you really want to see the final cut scene, it is no doubt floating around on youtube.
VGA version on PC does look better than what the Amiga can pull off.
hahaha it's on DOS box, of course not. 30 years ago on my 1200 with an '888 and a multisynch monitor, Amiga ate Big Blue's lunch. Unf C/A didn't know how to sell stuff and IBM cought up in the 90's
As to coding, it was written on Amigas and then ported, like 90% of games in those years.

Well... except AGA on Amiga is better than VGA, and some awesome people decided to rip the DOS versions of these games and and added the DOS graphics to the Amiga games, making some AGA versions.

So all the best from DOS and the best from Amiga in one version... oh, and they added a minimap feature as well...

...but sorely missed to add the end sequence to the AGA version! So, in the end, Amiga AGA conversion is as 'bad' as DOS version, except the (very helpful) automap.
only 'true' Amiga version has the end sequence, though.

I have not played EoB 2 AGA yet, but EOB1 AGA has the full ending. That is part of why the Amiga AGA version is the overall best version. It has built in automap, full colors, Amiga sound and music and the full ending sequence rather than just some text.

Maybe they added this later or something, because I had the full ending and you played some earlier version where they had only added the PC ending and had not yet gotten the Amiga ending mixed with the DOS graphics.

Maybe. AGA still has early version numbers. Probably I had an old version.
Has anyone asked GOG to give us the AGA version. Surely the copyright holder has the rights so it should be smooth sailing.
Here is a wishlist entry if you want the AGA version also.
https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/eye_of_the_beholder_aga_best_version_with_automap_and_ending_movie
The wishlist has only 3 votes, mine, the original poster's and one more. Sadly, I don't believe it will be approved. However, if you Google "Eye of the Beholder Amiga version", you can find it. (I think, I haven't finished it yet.)
Between the official versions the superior version is the PC one. Originaly the Amiga version was more clumpsy and had worse colors.

I believe that the AGA version was unnoficial and relatively newer, fanmade. Obvioulsy if this version is taken in acount it is the best one. The VGA graphics from the PC version, the final complete movie, the better sound from Amiga and an elegant and perfectly integrated automap.
Play the GOG DOS-Box Version and try All-Seeing Eye https://ase.zorbus.net/

It is sad that they left the ending off the DOS version because of disc space :-(
