Hi,

I'm more than halfway through the Eye of the Beholder and I've hit a game breaking glitch. All of a sudden my mage can't scribe or memorize spells and my cleric can't pray for new spells. When I select the appropiate options the game tells me I don't have a mage or a cleric. When the party rests they don't restore their current memorized spells neither.

Has anyone encountered this? Does anyone know how to fix it?

Since this game only has one savegame I don't have a previous savegame, except one at less than half the game that I manually backed up :( .

Thanks in advance.

This sounds like a problem, that someone had with EOB2.

That problem could be solved by hex editing the save file. Maybe it would work in your case, too. I'd try uploading my save file and seeing, whether someone in the community could help.
Thanks.

It's not exactly the same. I can rest, the game just doesn't detect my cleric and mage as cleric and mage. This means I can have a problem with food too, since I can't recover the create food spell.

I can upload it to dropbox. While I wait for someone else to answer I can try to compare my very old savegame with the current one to see differences and test some hex editing.
Just in case anybody wants to take a look at it, this is my savegame:

And this is and old savegame:

P.S: Substitute [DOT] by . in the links and put "https" at the start, the forum doesn't let me post them.

The forum will at one point ;)

You need a rep of 5 to post links. GOG's way of combating Spam.

And for easiness I 'translated' your links.

Old save I assume they did work correctly? (just for clarification ;) 0
Thanks!

And yes, in the old savegame they worked correctly.
From the manual:
FOOD BAR. When a character has run out of food he loses 1 HP per 24 hours and cannot memorize or pray for spells.

There was at least one food ration left at the level where you're at. If you're really stuck, you could use The All-Seeing Eye or a hex editor to edit the food levels.

Haha, sometimes it's that easy. :-)

Anyway, Laia has a potion of vitality in her inventory. Use that on Klaudia the cleric, so that she is satiated, then rest, let her regain her create food spell, cast it and rest the whole party up. And from that point on always keep one create food spell ready, to prevent that predicament from happening again.
Wow... that makes me feel stupid xD
What's weird is that I always have a Create Food spell ready. I guess I've been playing without resting a lot of hours!

Thanks!
