joonashgog: Released an early version of a FRUA Module Manager which downloads the module list from UA File Archive and lets you download and install modules with a single click and apply the hacks with another click. I'm not yet 100% sure that the hacks are done exactly like UAShell does them. You can use it just for downloading and extracting modules.

Thank you! It works flawlessly (so far :)))
Been a LONG time since I opened FRUA.

I was wondering after looking at a huge module listing.... is FRUA stuck with the Demi-human character level min/max settings of the FR Gold Box games? Is there any version that utilizes the Krynn races and min/max level settings and classes. (Love me my Knights of Solamnia!) Kind of sucks that only humans can rise above level 5 as a cleric......

IIRC, that's something that can be hacked, so it might depend on the modules you play. I don't think, for example, that Ray Dyer's The Realm series of classic pen & paper conversions still has these limitations in place. In fact, I don't really remember it being an issue with any FRUA modules I played, but no guarantees. If you want more helpful answers, I strongly recommend joining the FRUA forums where all the experts hang out and ask again over there.
I'll start by saying I am clueless when it comes to computers, however, I have managed to download all the classic adventures and even got them so I can select them in UA, I then create a character but it asks me to insert a disk to save it, This is where I fall down, I can do nothing from this point, please could someone show me where to go from here?
Thank you in advance anyone who can help me :)
I dont remember:
I do we create/modify/add tlb files
Import wall set ????
Thanks a lot guys
This may be a longshot, but will ask anyway:

I notice the site http://frua.corhub.com/ but can't seem to download any art. It results in "page not found" errors when I go clicking on links. Furthermore, if one wanted every piece of art, it would take thousands (?) of clicks + downloads.

Is there an archive anywhere with all the custom art that can be downloaded more efficiently? I am not asking for any form of p*rated content, I only mean free user-generated art as seems to be allowed by the game.

Mac directions: copy/pasta with edits
Running Hacked designs

1. Download uashellc.zip from the UA archive and extract its contents to your main UA directory 'D&D Unlimited Adventures.app/Contents/Resources/game' (Right-click Show Package Contents on the App to browse from Finder).

1b. OPTIONAL: Code check removal (Pt. 1): If you want to permanently remove the obsolete codeword check from your legit copy of the game, also download ckit-crk.zip and extract CKIT-CRK.COM to your main UA directory 'D&D Unlimited Adventures.app/Contents/Resources/game'.

2. Edit script_alt.sh at 'D&D Unlimited Adventures.app/Contents/Resources' with a text editor. Change lines 5-6 to:

3. Make a copy of the file dosbox_ua_single.conf in the same directory, 'D&D Unlimited Adventures.app/Contents/Resources/game', and rename it to dosbox_uashell.conf. Open dosbox_uashell.conf with a text editor. Find the line that says „start“ and replace it with „CALL uashell“.

3b. OPTIONAL: Code check removal (Pt. 2): Insert a line above „CALL uashell“ and put „ckit-crk“ in it (it's very important that your config file runs ckit-crk.com before calling uashell or it won't work!). You can also remove GOG’s copy protection notice by deleting all lines from „@ECHO OFF“ to „pause“.

Gydion: Rest of the directions are the same. Hold down <ALT> while launching the game to run UAShell.
You can swap the contents of script.sh & script_alt.sh to have it default to UAShell vs Standard. You can also do all this from Terminal if preferred.
You'll have to clarify about the last part, I'm trying to install UAShell but no matter what I try it doesn't work.

Leroux: ATTENTION! :)

Since the forum software has become even buggier in recent years, I don't dare to edit my original posts anymore, but there actually is a new and much easier way to apply hacked designs in FRUA now than the UAShell installation I described in 2015, at least for Windows, I guess. It's actually been available since 2017, and I overlooked it so far (my apologies!).

UA DESIGN APPLY by Donnie Ewald
uadap.zip
Readme

(Your anti-virus program may complain about it because it's a small unknown exe, but its fine, and my AVG gave me the okay after sending it to the test lab.)

How it works is you give it the path of your FRUA folder with the CKIT.exe in it and the folder of the design you wish to apply and press Apply, then exit and start FRUA. If you want to apply another design, you first press Revert to restore the original FRUA version, then Apply again with the path of your new design. Simple as that. Basically the same thing that UAShell did, but as a Windows program without complicated installation. (see screenshot)
Do you know if this works on a mac?

Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with the Mac myself, so I have to rely on what Mac users tell me. If you or anyone else finds out whether this works on a Mac or what to do to make it work, I'll gladly add the info to this thread!

I can still run and create non-hacked modules with uashell, can I?
been wanting to start playing The Realm again after a long time. I was hoping to keep all the modules in their own folder. But that doesn't seem possible. Is it? Am I missing something? Thanks.
I started playing the unlimited adventures version of pool of radiance, but can’t find the tome of bodily health. Does anyone know where it is?
