I did a fresh install of LM17 and when I run start.sh I get following errors:

err:ole:CoInitializeEx Attempt to change threading model of this apartment from multi-threaded to apartment threaded
err:wgl:has_opengl Failed to load libGL: /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libxcb-dri3.so.0: undefined symbol: xcb_send_fd
err:wgl:has_opengl OpenGL support is disabled.

edit: I found this from the game desccription: "Radeon HD 5770 or better (Intel cards are not supported)," So I won't probably be able to run it on my Intel HD 4000. Luckily I'm getting an Nvidia card soon.

Yep, good graphic card is a must for a true gamer. :P
I'm not sure if your card could run the game, but the error suggests that OpenGL isn't working with i386 software on your system, which isn't a limitation of the HD 4000.

I'm not overly familiar with Mint, or Ubuntu for that matter so take this with a grain of salt, but you may be able to solve the problem by installing versions of libgl1-mesa-glx:i386 and libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 from multiarch.

The game didn't run with open-source video drivers before but we are releasing a hotfix now so you should be able to play Flatout with your Intel HD considering the performance will be good enough :)

linuxvangog: ...releasing a hotfix now...
Sorry for off-topic. Can you please take a look at this issue? I doubt that directing it to support would be of any use. It's a question for the packaging team really. Thanks!
