SasauCat: Same issue
One of the main reasons I bought this game is to watch those majestic cutscenes lol. Don't tell me I have to remove them to get it to work
If you want to play the game with cutscenes all you have to do is go to the where you downloaded the game and go to the video folder then you just have to remove FLINTRO, HDILOGO2, and SSI_LOG from the folder and when you start the game it will jump to the main menu and you can play the game with all the rest of the cutscenes.
This works for me:

In the Control Panel (not Settings), go to Programs and Features -> Turn Windows features on and Off. Open the Legacy Components section and tick DirectPlay.

Have a nice game :]

THANK YOU!!
Use dgVoodoo and you will be able to play the game normally with all the videos.

Swishtail: Apparently this is a widespread issue. Any solutions? GOG?

OldHat: Run the gog installer as an admin. Then open the installation folder and find "epic" cfg. Alter "DoVideo=1" to 0.

Game works, just without any cut scenes. Whilst this detracts from the immersion & story, the missions are fully playable. Capture the objective markers or rout/destroy all enemy forces. You don't need the script to tell you that anyway.
How do you get it to work with the cutscenes though?

This lets you watch the first mission video but the game crashes after the video is over

Try going to where you have the game downloaded and go to the cfg titled "epic" and change UseGrid from 1 to 0 and that should stop the crashing after the video is over

I just created a new patch using dxwrapper to be able to get this game working on Windows 10.

The issue with this game is that it has a bug in it. It tries to access the surface memory after the surface has been released. This issue happens right after the first video plays, which is why it crashes after the first video.

Anyways, I created a fix for this game. You can check it out here: https://www.github.com/elishacloud/dxwrapper/wiki/Final-Liberation%3A-Warhammer-Epic-40%2C000

Thanks,
Elisha

Nice, thank you. Works well so far. I got the intro cinematic playing through, mission briefing, and the first mission o.k. My Thunderhawk was shot down by bolter fire, I forget it has paper armour. Not the patches fault, I ramble sometimes.

Thanks for the work.

Thanks for your support to this game.

Have you tried contacting GOG to see if they can update their game using your patch (with your consent, of course)?
