It just strikes me as odd, you can hit end turn infinitely to get infinite points because there is no sense of urgency, they will only counter attack you twice in the entire campaign and never again.

I played right through and also used pause a lot. Never had a counter attack that I noticed. It really should have been a nail-biting risk!
