Any info about an official fix for this issue?
I developed a potential fix for the problem which does not require disabling any HID-Devices.

For some reason I can't create a new thread or posts containing links on GOG right now, but I made one on the Steam community discussion forums. Just google: steam community fear

GOG restricts new users from posting links to avoid spam.

Here's the link to the page you mentioned.

Here's the direct link to the fix:

Link to Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 from Microsoft (which he said is required):

I haven't tested it yet, but I did use Virustotal online virus scan to scan the dll file with 56 different programs and they all said it was clean. Don't take my word for it though. Go ahead and rescan it yourself. I always do.

Thanks.
It has now been confirmed by several people in the Steam forum that the fix works for them. I would put it in a separate thread here too to make it easier to find. Unfortunately I still can't create posts containing links.
Have updated the OP with a link to the new thread. Thanks for doing this, I hope it works on my machine as well! (have to redownload it before I can check)
