Greetings.

Is there a mod or cheat that remove the turn limits on the maps/scenarios? I loved everything about Fantasy General way back then except that really annoying turn limit. It even made me quit the game.

If there is I'll certainly by it again here. :)

*Bump*

A recent sale got me thinking about this question again.
I too would be interested in a way to change or remove the time limits from at least some of the scenarios. I hate that you can be absolutely routing the enemy and still lose, often because you made decisions that realistically would be far preferable to just rushing full-out.

I know that a few mods for this game existed a very long time ago. If you spend some time googling you can still find references to them, but no links that still work. This seems like something that should be within the realm of possibility, but I'd have no idea where to even begin to do it myself.
I loved Fantasy General. But sometimes the turn limits were so artificial. I understand in some situations they would definitely be appropriate, but they are so rough.
Yes, the turn limit makes the game harder, but it's the normal thing for wargames on this scale. At Zama, Scipio Africanus didn't just need to beat Hannibal any old time; he needed to do it that day. Same at Waterloo; Wellington (and Bluecher) had to beat Napoleon before dark, not just at their leisure. On D-Day, the Allies needed to secure the Normandy beaches on time, so that subsequent operations could proceed on schedule. There's always a deadline to meet.

Why should it be any different in this game? Set the difficulty to Easy if you need to, but you're still playing against the clock. That's war, and that's life.
For Fantasy General there is UGE.exe (Universal Game Editor) but it is not easy to use.

What I have is gempol.exe (Gem Polish) for DOS. I was not able to find it using Google. Below is more info about it:

You can not change maximum number of turns, but you can change which turn you are on. For example instead of being on turn 12 of 16, you can change the first number so that you are on 5 of 16 turns.
