It's the same game, except for changed logo and lack of bonus goodies.

What goodies are missing? That's really disappointing to hear they removed them... why?! :/
The most important are the Fallout Bible and the Soundtrack. Then there are some wallpapers, artwork pictures, and avatars.

As to why, probably because Bethesda didn't get the rights to publish those, only the game.

The Fallout Bible, for example, was compiled by GOG from Chris Avellone's material while he was at Black Isle; and is a proper separate work from the game. Maybe Bethesda didn't feel like paying Chris for his work or maybe Chris didn't feel like giving the rights to them.

- reference card 1 MB
- soundtrack 80 MB
- avatars (18) 1 MB
- Vault Boy avatars (5) 1 MB
- artworks (5) 2 MB

Fallout 2
- manual (166 pages) 1 MB
- HD wallpaper 6 MB
- Fallout series wallpaper 7 MB
- reference card 1 MB
- Fallout Bible (205 pages) 54 MB
- original soundtrack 83 MB
- avatars (13) 1 MB
- Vault Boy avatars (5) 1 MB
- artworks 2 MB

That's a shame. I just picked up Fallout 2 today as I already had 1. Appears I had Fallout 1 (Classic) and now I see Fallout 2 classic is no longer available. :/
