Can't launch the application on my new Macbook Pro running 10.9.3

I get the above error after attempting to launch the package in Applications.

I tried re-downloading, no luck. Other GOG games work.

Any ideas?

Try another browser or downloading it via GOG.com downloader - http://www.gog.com/downloader

When it says it's damaged then the file is pretty likely damaged and you'll have to download it again. Delete your old corrupt file before.
Given that you have already re-downloaded it, triock & DeMignon are likely wrong. ;) The last few OS X 10.9 users had success with the second solution, Game "can't be opened because it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store". If it doesn't work try the first solution on that page.

Hehe, I've forgotten about this. Six eyes see obviously more than four ;-)
I'm curious about the outcome, hopefully d1000 gives us feedback.

Try right-clicking on the .dmg file, selecting 'Get Info', and under 'Sharing & Permissions' make sure the Privileges for the file are set to Read & Write.

Yes, hopefully I won't need to eat my words. ;) IIRC, there was a couple of cases where a copy/paste fixed this or a similar issue. Which would be a permissions problem like SCPM is suggesting.

Hi all - thanks for all the info!

I had previously downloaded without using the GOG downloader. I installed the current downloader, and there was no trouble. I shoulda read the FAQ!

I had an old copy of the corrupt .dmg, and I checked the permissions. There were 'read/write' for my user, so it wasn't that.

I did not have to make any changes to Security and Privacy in System Prefs to launch the game.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in! - D

You're welcome, thanks for the feedback ;-)
triock for the win. I do wish GOG would provide checksums for downloadable files. Then you could see if it's a successful download or not.
