Hello everyone, I was wondering if it was possible to run Fallout 2 in window mode.
I've searched on the internet a bit and there were a few mods. One in particular was the ddraw.ini one, but it doesn't seem like this version from GOG has ddraw in the directory...
You're absolutely right, it doesn't have ddraw.ini initially. you have to run the game first, and then the mod should work ok. unless you're like me, and get to paint your desktop back on the screen.
This patch contains a ddraw.ini and ddraw.dll, I haven't installed FO 2 yet though, so I don't know if I'll need the patch like I did with FO and hence I haven't tried it with FO 2 either. (the one for FO worked fine for removing my problem though, but I don't play windowed so I can't say it would've worked with that)

You'll need to have some program to unzip 7z though, I use 7-zip for that, which is available here:

Rainstorm: This patch contains a ddraw.ini and ddraw.dll,

Funny, I had mine after installing and then running the game once. I actually replaced it with the mod that allows you to run in windowed mode, and then when I removed the mod, I removed both of those items, and it worked just fine.. how peculiar.

That's the weird part. I've already played FO2 a few times now and I don't see a ddraw.ini anywhere.
???

You will only have a ddraw.ini if you installed some of the unofficial patches, like Killap's patch, which I feel everone should, because it fixes a lot of bugs and adds stuff like mouse wheel support, which eases the pain of inventory management in the game.
