I had a problem in Fallout 1 concerning an unplayable frame rate which was solved by renaming/removing ddraw.dll. Fallout 2 has the same performance problem but with Killap's Restoration Project installed I have a bit of a dilemma. Removing ddraw.dll would help the frame rate but at the same time it breaks the mod, giving an "error loading cities" message and doesn't let me play. Removing the mod would make the game functional but I really want to experience it with the mod.
How do I solve my performance problem without messing with ddraw.dll that is vital to the mod?
My specs:
Win XP Pro
A64 3000+
GF6600GT
1 GB RAM

I would recommend contacting support about the subject, but seeing as the file is not part of the GOG download, you might have to hit the forums at "No Mutants Allowed" and post in this topic. Perhaps someone else has encountered the same problem.
