Novotnus: You're welcome :) Just remember, that translation can be pretty immersion breaking and no progress reports has been made on the official English version for quite some time.
If you can live with that, you're up for some good isometric Fallout fun.
Actually, there was a report a week ago (day before your post), that english translation is halfway done.

Great to hear! Can't wait to play it again!

Novotnus: Found this: http://resurrection.cz/en/ some time ago (I guess I'm near the end - already know where the antagonist resides). It's simply amazing. Actually it's so good that I reached near-end with pretty bad google translation (here it is, if anybody wishes to try it out.
Haven't have so much Fallout fun for a long time.
Sweet! My only regret is only finding your post just now, since I've been intrigued by this mod since I heard about it (and have been waiting for English version).
I'm hoping for Fallout Resurrection to be done before the end of the year. Then I will hibernate until Fallout of Nevada gets a translation.
For those using high-res patch on high-DPI screens (15" FullHD laptops, 4K screens, etc).

With the new version "4.1.8 With Zoom" one can finally get large text, cutscene subtitles and UI (2X scaling) combined with good overview of game area (full HD), which did not seem to be possible before (I had to delete GOG's own f2_res.ini anyways).

See attached picture, note the size of the UI, event text and SkillDex. Same applies to dialog/inventory/etc screens.

I've got these installed through Galaxy now, and I've discored an configuration tool with an option to enable "High Definition Patch" and x2 scaling built in.

Is this what I use now? Or am I still downloading a third party mod?
Hello, I need help!

What mods are pre-installed in Fallout 2 Classic on gog? I see there is a high resolution patch built in so i'm wondering what else is pre-installed before i go and try and install extra mods.

Thx!

The new launcher has an option to view the readme, second from the top:

This Bethesda Softworks release of Fallout 2 contains the original Interplay 1.02 version of the game. This release has been pre-patched with sfall version 3.2 and the Fallout 2 high resolution patch version 4.1.8.
It contains one page of information followed by about 50 pages of EULA.

cemtufekci: I just installed Fallout 2 and after some quick research i found that the information at the first page is a little bit outdated. For new comers like me i decided to share my findings and make a quick update.

If your aim is simply to get bug fixes and some bonus content loyal to the original game it is enough to install Fallout 2 Restoration Project 2.3.2. This includes the latest versions of the other mods listed at the first page. You need nothing else. You DO NOT NEED TO INSTALL UNOFFICIAL PATCH. It is also included.

You can find it here:

sorry, just a stupid message.

So just to be clear if you install FO2 from GOG now you already get the unofficial patch, Hi-Res, and Sfall engine tweaks? We could really use an update on the front page to make this a little easier to understand.
So I am thinking about playing Fallout 2 again, what mods would you guys recomend?

Nothing, really. As mentioned above, the GOG installer includes the high resolution patch and sfall, the latter of which fixes a few annoyances.

There are still a plethora of bugs in the game that sfall doesn't address. Many of these can be fixed with Killap's unnofficial patch or the restoration project, both of which can be found here. Just be aware Killap's patch occasionally introduces new bugs, and the restoration project changes the game quite a bit.

If this is your first time playing the game, I would recommend just playing it out of the box.
Hi!

I've installed the killap unofficial patch (not the restoration project, just the patch) and I've been having difficulty becoming a Quad Made Man. Mason seems to detect me every time I go up the stairs now after having become a Bishop Made Man. I'm following a guide on GameFAQs for this but it's not helping. Is it impossible with this patch now?
