I'm surprised there has not been one mention of Planescape: Torment in this cRPG discussion. Another true classic. I've yet to play Arcanum, but I've heard good things all around.

The only problem that Arcanum has, is the combat system. The realtime combat is sometimes to hard and the turn based combat (that I liked more) is the most time to easy.

I'd lost my copies of Fallout 1 and 2.
Fallout had the best ending ever, IMO.

I assume you're referring to the Bloody Mess bit? I actually liked the ending better without that. More poignant.

To each his own. I still prefer the mess. Heh.

i agree i was alittle tacker when i first played fallout an loved it i got the fallout seires 1,2,Tac but a friend lost it on me.
Arcanum was fun but to buggy on my rig at the time was fun have magic an macihne agenst each other.
But i miss the ultima seires still, i liked ultima 7 (UO was great but the splitting of the worlds sucked)
wounder if GOG will/can get the ultima seires?
i want fallout online :) BUT with all the skills to build up

Yeah, well, on some playthroughs I do go with it. It can be somewhat cathartic ;-)
