Hey guys, new GOG-er and finally getting some games I have wanted for years! One of which is Evolva, on my windows 8 computer, runs absolutely perfectly except for the absolutely horrendous screen flicker on the bottom 4 screens in-game. Everything else works absolutely fine, but this screen flicker makes the game nearly unplayable and hurts my head-which DOES render it unplayable.
Anyone able to help, I would appreciate it!
Thank you!

If you have Nvidia card, try this - http://www.gog.com/forum/evolva/screen_flicker
For AMD - http://www.gog.com/forum/evolva/bottom_view_screens_flickering
I have done both, and I do have a Nvidia card. Any other tips?

Sorry, no. :/

Have you already tried updating your graphic card's driver?
I shall attempt to do so.
I updated my drivers, reinstalled the game, and the bottom four screens still flicker absurdly.
Can anyone please help?

Try closing all other windows before starting the game and turn the auto-hide function of Window's Task Bar on.
That was a smart suggestion I thought, but alas it still did not prevail. Thank you though!
Has anyone else played it on Win 8/8.1? Without issues? Maybe someone who had made it work flawlessly can help...
Sorry, I can't test it on Win 8 here. Maybe it's time to send a support ticket. I'm curious what they've to say about this issue.

I'm running Windows 8, or 8.1 (the computer was talking about forcing me to change to 8.1, so that may have already happened). The only flickering issue that I have experienced is on the mission briefing screens. The planet flickers horribly, but in game there is nothing like that. I will say the screens flicker SORT OF for me, but not nearly as much as you describe, it is only occasional and just makes them be sort of choppy.

Have you tried different screen resolutions? Mine is set to 1280x1024 or something like that.

My video card is ATI though.
Ahh, glad it works for you! I have not actually tried that yet... or at least not extensively. I will try to match your resolution and see if it helps.
IT WORKS! :D Thanks mate!!! I didn't change the resolution in game, but in the settings for the game through windows, running it in limited color mode, and it plays like a dream.

Great to hear you got it working, I had a boxed copy back in the day that I got on sale but never played it. I was put off by the box art. I fell in love with it the other week and marathoned through it.

I got character flickering when I reloaded the game on ANY level with lava though. That was my only real instance of it
