If this is "console style", does that mean it comes with controller support?
I have no idea how this plays and if controller support would even make sense, but I'm still asking.
It's looking quite amazing, but my nostalgia would be most tickled if I could play this with a controller on my tellie.

I have played it for the last hour or so, and have not seen anything about controller support, sorry.

The keyboard controls work fine, though :)
The game itself doesn't have a controller support. In fact there aren't really any settings you can change except sound settings and language.

You can use the controller with something like XPadder though. I have USB SNES controller that I like to use, since I've never gotten used to playing games like this with keyboard.
Speaking of keyboard controls. what are they??? so far i have w s as up or down . please advise.

After unlocking weapons you can use Space or Enter to slash things (bushes, monsters and other).

ED: When you open chests read what do they unlock. It gives a lot of useful info :)

Arrow keys for directions, space for action and backspace for cancelling. And yeah, WASD works for directions also and I think E or R or something near them worked as an action key too.
Sounds like something like JoytoKey would work wonders for this.
Xpadder and JoyToKey do not seem to work with this. Rather strange and disappointing. Can anyone get a gamepad to work with it?

I'm currently using JoyToKey with it and it functions 100%. I did have to run JoyToKey as admin to get it to work. Without that it wouldn't function at all.
i think a game like this should have controller support right from the start.
Maybe the developers will patch that in someday?

Xpadder works fine though

For me Xpadder works fine with Win7 and Vista SP2 compatibility + Run as administrator. But I can't get it to workin on Win8, not matter what I try.

I must be lucky or something. I'm using it with Windows 8 with no issues at all. Just running it as admin.
I didn't think to run xpadder as admin. It works now, thanks for mentioning that.
Hah, thanks all.
This game just dropped a couple of spots on my list, I really don't understand why you'd make a nostalgia trip for old school console gamers and not put in controller support.
I'm sure it's lovely and all, I just don't dig the hassle of xpadder and company.
Saw on their twitter that they are working on adding controller support.
Dunno when it'll show up though.
