I got no sound during the intro movie and the main game menu is corrupted, only a black screen with the word "Quit" in the top left corner is visible. The same problem as described in this post.
I'm using Windows 7 RTM x64, Intel Core i7 860, 8GB RAM and an AMD Radeon HD 4800. The installation is relatively fresh, only about 2 weeks old. Already tried the usual troubleshooting steps like compatibility mode and different graphic drivers.
I've tested the game on two different Windows 7 x64 machines (one of them with the exact same hardware specs), and there the game works correctly.
Any ideas?

The word quit does it have blue background behind it or is it completely black like the rest of your screen? Also you mention having two computers with the exact same hardware is the sound cards the same as well?

The background is completely black. When I click on quit, part of the word "yes" appear in the top left corner (most of it is off-screen). One of the two other computers has exactly the same hardware; I actually just tried the hard disk of this one on my computer and the game works correctly. Also, both machines have pretty much the same software, and only standard stuff (the only non-typical program is Visual Studio 2008 SP1). The sound driver is the standard Hi-def audio driver that comes with Windows 7.
Found a solution: Changing the regional settings in Windows from "English (United Kingdom)" to "English (United States)" fixes both problems.

Thats rather odd... eitherway glad you got this great game running.
Just encountered the same problem and found another solution, so you do not need to change your system settings. Edit current.op in ..\evil genius\Dynamic Ressources\Config. Change the value of Locale=XXX to the correspondig language pack you have installed with the game (in my case Locale=en_UK).
Changing the Locale in the config file didn't work for me.
I'm using the UK locale but I had changed my decimal and digit grouping symbols. Setting these back to . and , fixed both issues for me.
