I have the same problem!

I am getting the same issue. Game is unplayable. Fix or refund please gog!

Disabling autosave appeared to make them occur slightly less frequently, but I still get crashes (usually ~20 minutes in). I'm not getting any error messages though.

I wonder if applying the patch or unofficial patch would help? Another thread here suggested you should be able to apply them through wine.

I have found a useful workaround for Mac owners, I use this app called "Parallels" on my Macbook 2013. It lets you run windows simultaneously with OS X therefore i can download and play the Windows version of Evil Genius with no problems!

I've got almost the same issue. At first, i couldn't even launch the game (downloaded yesterday so yes it's up to date), so I changed the engine via wineskin to a more recent one. Now i can play, but crashes happen at random, between one and five minutes in game. I can't get the error message tho, the game just freezes and i have to force quit.

I kinda regret having bought it now.

(Mac OS el capitan, macbook air 128go so i won't install any other software to play this game)
