I'm kind of an idiot, so please be gentle...

Recently saw some vids about the Anbennar mod and wanted to give it a try.

- In the Paradox launcher went to mods
- Went to the mod search screen which opened a browser to Paradox. Found Anbennar in the alternate history section.
- Selected download which did an http download that completed instantly. Received amb_1.zip, which includes a folder named amb_1, which includes one file named descriptor.mod.
- I gathered from online sources that I'm supposed to place them in a folder named Users/alcar/Documents/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis IV GOG/mod
- No such mod folder existed so I created it. (Also, online sources said the folder should be 'Europa Universalis IV' without the 'GOG', but GOG is what was there.)
- Online sources said I needed to edit 'dlc_load.json' so I replaced...

Heck I don't know what I'm doing here at all. After trying lots of things, the paradox launcher always thinks I don't have any mods.

If there are any helpful folks out there who are willing to tell me what to do, then you probably need to know that I'm on WIN10, and of course, the GOG version of EU4. And I do not have Galaxy installed on my machine at all. I'm purely an offline files user - does that mess me up concerning Paradox mods?

I just managed to get Anbennar working, and I mostly followed the official installation guide video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtnJlra-NyI

I did not, however, grab the current state from gitlab, but instead used https://www.steamdb.com/en/tools/steam-workshop-downloader and steamcmd to download the current Steam Workshop version of the mod (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1385440355). That's just because I want a "stable" mod version instead of the current development state.

Then I copied the mod into the folder you mentioned. In my case it's different, because I am on Linux: "/home/<name>/.local/share/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis IV GOG/mod/" and renamed its folder to "Anbennar". After that I modified the mod's .mod file to contain the "path" entry mentioned in the video, and put it directly into the "/home/<name>/.local/share/Paradox Interactive/Europa Universalis IV GOG/mod/" folder.

After that: Enabled in the Launcher and Profit.

I'll attach a screenshot that hopefully makes my final setup clear.
