The Snow in May riddle.

I don't understand how I am failing so hard at this.

Help?

As I suspected I'm an idiot. Credit to whomever answers it and helps anyone else wondering.

You're not an idiot. That's an extremely cryptic riddle for a main quest, and lots of players had to look up the answer in forums.

You can't solve the riddle from that note. You are supposed to remember that there is a book with the same title that contains the whole poem, get the book, read the poem, and then answer the riddle. Of course, there is no hint that the book was so important, so if you sold the book to a shop that changed its supply, or abandoned it in a random barrel in a forgotten place, you're screwed, and cannot finish the game without help. That happened to me.

Scroll down for the answer:

Hollyhock:
Thanks for the solution! I saw the title of the book in the tavern and was just like "oh". Different copies of the book are actually sprinkled throughout Moonrise (if you break into the houses), but yah there was no indication that I needed to wait for a book to appear.

I've taken to just keeping everything that is remotely not an ingredient or weapon.

I actually kind of wish there was an indication of what happens if I decide to kill the lizard king vs. the alternate.

I'm doing "Finding another way", you get it if you refuse to kill the lizard king because warlord, but the lizard hasn't given me options for the warlord?
