I am trying to understand the "combat" system. If an incident occurs and my "roll" is higher then the difficulty it seems I win, except for when my roll is higher and it says failed? WTF? Is there some kind of explanation for this? The difficulty says 20 for instance, my "roll" is in the 40's, it says fail. If my rolls are below what the diificulty says it always fails, but when my roll is higher I would expect a success.

Hey, Bobbashyou! I think from what you are describing, you are encountering a known bug that deals with the display of the party power. For instance, the numbers below the characters are the correct numbers, but the total is not displaying correctly. This bug is reported and assigned to a dev as ET-1400.

To go into detail on how the system works: The system rolls each character individually, and if they succeed, then they get to apply their skill power against the difficulty of the encounter. The % that you see under each character represents their chance of individual success. In order to get a successful resolution of a given encounter, your party power must exceed the difficulty value. If you roll one character at a time, you can see what number is rolled and how much party power each character contributes towards success. There are certain die rolls (if you succeed by a lot or fail by a lot) that can result in higher numbers or even negative numbers, similar to critical hits or misses. Rolling individually gives you the opportunity to change the stances on each character dependent on what happens in the stages. While it is still a work-in-progress, please let me know if you have any questions about the stances!
