When you install this game and try to run it straight up, you'll run into errors a lot with the dialogue sections. You'll recognise them by the character speaking popping up and by, well, the only actual audio dialogue in the game. Typically, it'll be a Memory Access Exception error and there'll be these two sets of hexadecimal numbers, eight digits apiece.

WELL, that crash is actually quite easy to fix. I'm already at the T'Urthrax/Thelyd part of the game without a single crash, so that should tell you that the fix works. So, here's how to do it:

1. Open the Properties menu for the shortcut you're using, whether that be desktop or start menu. They'll both work.

2. Switch to the Compatibility tab.

3. Disable "Run as Administrator" (no reason for this to be ticked, doesn't need it) and "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" (also not needed because the game forces your screen resolution down).

4. Enable "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and set the drop-down option to "Windows 95". Also enable "Run in 640x480 screen resolution" because it seems to do away with the remainder of the crashes the compat. mode setting doesn't get rid of.

And that should fix your game, and it should be right as rain. Now, keep in mind, this is DIRECTLY AFTER INSTALLATION. Running the game prior to setting these, I've noticed, may cause the scrambled music error to pop up.

OPTIONAL: Also set "Reduced color mode" to "8-bit (256) color" and enable it. I just do this to be safe, but I'm almost certain nothing bad will happen if you don't. That's just a behaviour indicative of my own neuroses.

IF THIS DOESN'T WORK FOR YOU AND YOU'RE ON A WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM, POST YOUR OS BELOW AND I'LL LOAD A VIRTUAL MACHINE TO TEST AND BUGFIX ON.

I apologise, I got busy with school nonsense and forgot to check this post.

Anyhow, down to business: is the error you're getting a Memory Access Exception/Violation? If not, I'll need the following:

-The exact text of the error screen
-Your device's operating system version (including Service Pack number)
-Any compatibility options enabled at runtime

I'll attempt to recreate the error and work backwards to fix it.
