sudo apt-get install libc6:i386 libasound2:i386 libasound2-data:i386 libasound2-plugins:i386 libstdc++6:i386 libx11-6:i386 libxau6:i386 libxcb1:i386 libxcursor1:i386 libxdmcp6:i386 libxext6:i386 libxfixes3:i386 libxinerama1:i386 libxrandr2:i386 libxrender1:i386 libsdl2-2.0-0:i386

So I downloaded from gog and installed, then I had to get libxcursor1:i386 and libxrandr2:i386

Then when I started the game, there was a block screen with pink flashing graphical glitches everywhere. I have had this problem in the past with various other linux games before but Enter the Gungeon doesn't give me any useful output in the terminal.

Any help would be appreciated.

Same issue here. On Linux Mint.

Personally I've never seen this issue before.
Had the same issue, but I'm running Arch. I had to install the lib32-sdl2 package and its dependency sdl2. I think in Ubuntu the package might be libsdl2-2.0-0 or libsdl2. I would try to sudo apt-get install one of those. Hopefully that helps.

subedii: Same issue here. On Linux Mint.
From the game page.
Requires the following packages to be installed: libc6:i386 libasound2:i386 libasound2-data:i386 libasound2-plugins:i386 libstdc++6:i386 libx11-6:i386 libxau6:i386 libxcb1:i386 libxcursor1:i386 libxdmcp6:i386 libxext6:i386 libxfixes3:i386 libxinerama1:i386 libxrandr2:i386 libxrender1:i386 libsdl2-2.0-0:i386 and dependencies.
15.04, 15.10, stable proprietary Nvidia, same thing, awaiting support answer.
Works fine though latest wine beta yet I bought it not to play it through wine.

UPD:
Somehow, installing all this things
libc6:i386 libasound2:i386 libasound2-data:i386 libasound2-plugins:i386 libstdc++6:i386 libx11-6:i386 libxau6:i386 libxcb1:i386 libxcursor1:i386 libxdmcp6:i386 libxext6:i386 libxfixes3:i386 libxinerama1:i386 libxrandr2:i386 libxrender1:i386 libsdl2-2.0-0:i386
solved this issue.

Thanks to all of you and especially those of you who found the needed libraries. I didn't notice the list on the front page. Maybe a\some sort of message during the install with the list of libraries would be helpful. In either case, I will see if I can mark this post solved.

Yeah, this helped, much appreciated all.

Much like Silvermode I missed the bit on the game page stating the package requirements. Then I had some other issues, but they were related to dependencies, so thankfully once those packages were installed the game started working.

SlayerGoury: solved this issue.
It says it will also remove stuff related to xorg when I run that in terminal, that scares me lol. I'm running ElementaryOS 64bit freya.

The Linux version is now a universal one so you won't need to install those 32-bit libraries any longer :)
(Read the edit!)
Linux 1.0.9 here. One thing I forgot to report - game does not know how to switch monitors + will always go to the rightmost monitor even if that is not the primary monitor.

Funny about is that it detects screens properly (almost):
displaymanager : xrandr version warning. 1.4
client has 4 screens <-- this is obviously wrong
displaymanager screen (0)(DP-2): 1920 x 1200
displaymanager screen (1)(LVDS-0): 1920 x 1080
displaymanager screen (2)(DP-3): 1920 x 1200

Also, game will always be on screen 1 (since it is the rightmost one). I have the option ingame to switch monitor, but it will remain on the same screen (+ resolution will be reduced to 640x480 when "wrong" monitor is selected).

This plagues almost all of linux games (if not all) on mono... I would go windowed and not complain if that were not causing my sound to crackle.

EDIT: Actually, it works. I just have to quit the game for it to switch the screen...

I just downloaded this today and am having the same issue, before and after installing those libraries.

Edit: Nevermind, I missed the required library from the game page. Problem Solved.
