Both installed with offline installer, launching, even as admin, and both flash the screen when launching and then fail. There is a crash.log, they both have:

Reason: Access violation
Tried to write to memory location: 0x00000008


1. Do NOT attempt to launch the game from the installer, once the installer is done, close withOUT launching - the installer doesn't handle admin rights correctly.



After reading https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/213039345-Crashing-in-general?product=gog I tried using the "Disable full screen optimization" option, this was key!

Once that is disabled and EEAH is launched as Admin (EECH covered later), the initialization takes place AND then Windows desktop comes back to:

1. Offer to install DirectPlay - now I know this, I recommend installing this ahead of time
2. Firewall setup

Once those are taken care of you can switch back to the still running EEAH.

Restarting end up wiht half-width, messed up color menu for EEAH BUT the mouse did not work. Quit out (how ever you can) and undo the "Disable full screen optimization", then relaunch. Should launch without error and allow you to quick with the mouse. Untested gameplay at this point....

For EECH, also need to do "Disable full screen optimization" but also need to disable Windows 95/98 compat mode.
Similar to EEAH, need to deal with firewall. Restart with "Disable full screen optimization" unset, then menu should work. It's taken me this evening to get this far so I'm not sure if this allow games to actually be played!
