Main reason i purchased this was because gog.com kicks ass at actually supporting its customers and getting games to work that don't anymore unlike steam which just upload old games and has a sort of buyer beware silent policy.

This is one of those games i own on cd but can't get to work. Please gog.com as soon as it launches it crashes right after is changes the color scheme ( that part is normal ) but it crashes right after just like the CD-version!

Every time i have asked for help you guys have solved any and everything from DK 2 fullscreen mode, to heritage of kings the settlers graphics being broken, etc.

Please fix this as well! :)

Here is a copy and paste of the windows crash:

I can vouch for this behaving just like the CD version. The only fix/workaround I managed to get working involved installing each patch individually, one after the other. Obviously that won't work with the GoG version, but there's got to be a way around it.
I also can confirm I'm having the same issue with crashing on launch.
I am the same unfortunately, only one I cant get working. Tried all the usual tricks buit nothing is working.

On windows 10 and GTX1070 if that helps.

The GOG version is working normally here.
The old CD version worked as well - I don't remember even needing to apply a nocd/crack due to the Windows changes and the old DRM the game used.

setup_empires_dawn_of_the_modern_world_1.3.6.6437_(11911).exe
Microsoft Windows 10 LTSB [Version 10.0.14393]
AMD/ATI Radeon R9 285 (Radeon Software 17.51)

Are you all using NVIDIA cards?
Are there any screen overlays running or anything else that could interfere?
I don't believe I'll have been sent the "Windows 10 Creators Update" since I'm deliberately using the LTSB edition.

The only annoyance is the game being limited to 4:3 resolutions by default which isn't uncommon with a game of this age.
Workaround for that here: http://www.wsgf.org/dr/empires-dawn-modern-world

its not the video card... my old pc used an nvida card and it worked fine.
I have the same issue with a AMD RX480
anyone found a fix yet?
I reinstalled through the galaxy client instead of the stand alone installer and it now works.

I will also add that I tried all the other suggestions on the support page (except that I currently have chrome open) but those did not help with the stand alone installer. I'm not sure if those changes are a prereq for the galaxy client method to work.

So you installed off of galaxy instead of like the download game right from the website? Or vice versa?

Because I just uninstalled reinstalled right off the galaxy client again and that didn't work at all.

That is correct.

I also followed all the steps on this page
https://support.gog.com/hc/en-us/articles/213039345

However those did not work until I uninstalled the web dl version and installed the galaxy version.

For reference I was also unable to run the cd installed version in prior attempts.

Running windows 10 64 bit with an Radeon RX480.

I'm not sure what precisely made it start working and after trying to play this game for years I'm afraid to touch anything now that it does.
An update
My game does not always launch. I've been trying to isolate the variables that prevent it from launching.
So far I can say that having overwolf open consistently makes it fail to launch
There also seems to be inconsistent results with steam and or flux open.
I tried all of that and none of it has worked so far... please gog.com help us out!!! :(
anyone make any kind of headway? I tried the suggested methods and I got nothing :(

I'm also following this. Waiting on an appropriate fix.
