It's here, the remaining city builder of the Classic Impressions series after years of asking!

I don't know when this was released, but this is the first post in the Emperor forum! Ask all questions about the game, post links and help others with this excellent, and long forgotten, final game of the Impressions series. :D

I'll probably put up a thread of useful links to video let's plays, guides and other such things in due course. Hopefully GOG Staff will sticky it. :)

Is it widescreen compatible? The old version was stretched to match the screen, losing the proportions. And the interface was too big on these days screens.

The game is provided as is, with the latest patch. To play in higher resolutions, you'll have to install the widescreen patch: links and instructions are available here in this thread:

Oh, so there is no point in buying it if you already have the "old" one :-/

Thanks for the info!

Even though I have the original CD copy, I bought the GOG version just to have all of them on my account. Plus, the benefit is that they're DRM free, so you can sell the CD copy, or keep it for the shelf :D

At least in the GOG version, you do not need to keep inserting the CD just to create campaigns: the campaign editor in the GOG version is fixed so it does not need the CD to be run.
Great to know, Shukaku. Thanks!

I just bought the GOG release a few minutes ago, and came here to ... well, exult. Very happy chappy here. I was also intrigued to see GOG released the first two Caesars, which may prove to be curiosities more than anything, but I still bought them.

I too have the original Emperor CD, which I nabbed on Amazon a while back while it was still available and I wondered if Emperor might never come to GOG, but I'm much happier to have the GOG verson, with its adjustments for modern OSes.

Well, I'm off to China.
It's good to see Emperor on GoG. I also have the CD version, but my laptop doesn't have a dvd drive in it. I don't exactly want to play right now, but good to know the option is out there (and cheaper than buying a external dvd drive).
Whew, I knew GoG is awesome, but I nearly lost any hopes to see this game anywhere. Back when it was released it was the only one I couldn't get my tracks on, and finally, I can play it. The oil tears of joy drop from my headlamps. Ah, what a beauty.
Thank you, guys!
Thank you for the welcome. I have a prolem tho. There are no campaigns on Single player. I, too, have the CD, which I haven't been able to play for 9.5 years. I have had Dell computers for those last 9.5 years, several different ones that my son has bought for me. I have Win 10 w/ wide screen now, and I really want to play it again. I love this game! How do I get the single player cmpaigns?

The campaigns are installed as part of installing the game... if they're missing, your installer did not run properly, maybe your anti-virus blocked the GOG installer in some way?

I recommend installing the game using a tool known as GOG Downloader, and avoiding use of the GOG Galaxy app, it has been known to cause installation problems with older games such as this.
