letsdance: MotBW does have a few mechanics that look very interesting (like a bonus for attacking from behind) and that do not exist in genesis.

Boon952: Jazz added some kind of back-stab mechanic in the latest NH version, AFAIU.
the problem is that i don't like NH at all :-( in my oppinion, their balancing is even worse than the original game. it's been a while since i tried it, but from what i read this is not going to improve. i might try again some time, and make a NH version of my balance mod, but my motivation to make a mod that probably won't work for future NH versions is very low.

Yes, yes it absolutely does. MotBW crashes, and it crashes more the later in the shard you are.

As I said, I don't remember it for crashing :)

Now on the sixth shard after siege and winning the battle for his keep and after choosing the hero on returning to the Astral, the game crashed with an unhandled exception error, but it did actual create a save for winning the shard (autosave) and I could load/continue from there.
Bummer, looks like they cancel development of Blood and Gold, which looks like a fascinating concept.
That's ending like a 4 years love story :/ Happy birthday! ://
We're back to Genesis, more beautifull with New Horizons mod,
but we still miss a graphic enhancement. Hey, that would be an idea for a next Eador game lol !

In my current campaign I only crashed if I finish a shard and return to Astral, but that pretty much every time. It does create a savegame in the Astral just before crashing but you may miss a conversation.
A solution is to go back to the shards last save and try again, the crash is random and eventually you end the shard without.

p.s. while looking for the chances of events, I noticed lots of commented code for an editor. So they were working on a game editor, wonder if this will still happen :)

When I first played MotBW I went 20 hours without a crash but after that it became completely unstable for some reason and would crash at least a couple of times an hour. This rendered it pretty much unplayable and even several complete un/reinstalls didn't fix it.

Luckily I actually like Imperium and have played more than 60 hours without a single crash.

But I want to state this again.
You get plenty of savegames, even when leaving the shard I got a save in the Astral before it crashed. But I also had the standard 5 last turn saves on the last shard to go back to and try again.
I am on the ~15th shard now, killed two other masters, defend myself the third time now on my shard and had maybe 4 crashes.
The last few shards I had no crashes at all going back to the Astral.

I did have a few fights with 0 health units still standing, but you can just let it auto-fight and it ends with you winning. Or load the last save.

p.s. Windows 10 64bit with pretty high spec machine.

I did not look at Imperium yet, but it was an instant buy for me :)
