I've only had to defend once so far, and I don't think it gave me the option of choosing which benefits to add - it just dumped all of them into the shard.

Now I can foresee this being a problem in two scenarios:

1. You manage to have too many "item in treasury" benefits to fit into the actual treasury
2. One of the "buildings in stronghold" benefits is actually one of the "you can only have X of these", and it's not one you necessarily want taking up the slot.

So what happens in these cases?

1) I'm not sure what would happen in this case, but I don't know whether it's reasonably likely to ever be an issue.

2) Unfortunately, you're stuck with the building(s) that you may not want. This isn't an issue for most building types since the bulk of these bonus buildings are the basic sort that you'd want to have anyway and that don't conflict with anything else (library, shrine, blacksmith, etc), but you can end up with the recruiting post and slinger school (at least) in the military quarter.

Ok, thanks :)

Yeah, I've been hesitant about attacking a shard with the Recruiting Post benefit for that very reason.

Wouldn't mind Slinger School since I tend to take it for the watchmen guard anyway.
