Simply right-clicking buildings in the castle buildings screen provides info
a) required buildings
b) gives access to buildings
Basically you have an interactive buidling tree - just click stuff, you will figure it out :)

Market requires Inn, Farmers Market and four basic stores (screenshot). IIRC, the four basic stores are unlocked by default. If you have unlocked Inn & Farmers Market, one of the next shards generated should offer the "market".

jamotide: Oh yeah the only thing that bothered me was that some of the new creatures you can create from items (if you have the building for them, like spiders and dragons) have the building requirement on the bottom of the description, and some of the descriptions are like an entire novel. And since you can't scroll down fast, only one line per click, it can take a while ;)
Try using the mouse wheel to scroll to the the building requirements :)
Feedback for new horizons

Things i dont like:
some units and sound effects taken from other games (homm3, homm4) breakes immersion!

Fix it!!

Things i like: pretty much everything else!
I love the sound effects from the old games like HoMM 3. Keep them. I have been playing Eador New Horizons way long so I can veto you :)
Thanks everyone for the responses, again.

I really like the added unit variety. In the centaur fights, for example, you are no longer just fighting 5 to 10 of the same guys but you have the melee-only brute-guys, the weaker young guys, and the spellcaster as well. Definitely spices things up.

There is something to be said for fighting a lot of the same unit, though; it forces you to brutally exploit their weakness and resist their strengths. Take trolls: you are racing to wear down their HP while "distracting" them (morale, stamina, web, sleep, whatever) before they can lumber into smashing range. With pegasi, you can no longer really use spells, and they fly up to your archers super-quick, but they are so fragile that if you're careful you can quickly get the upper hand.

In general, though, additional variety is great.

Also, it took me a while before I realized that the young centaur graphic is from HOMM 1 (or is it 2?). It was a little bit immersion-breaking once I realized it but also gives me that nice glow of nostalgia, so in the end it's a wash. :-)
Also, can't wait for the next English release. In the meantime I'm going after another ending in my MotBW campaign.

Retested 2.50c and 2.50.d, win7. Mouse-wheel feature is standard for quite some time now. Otherwise there would have been lots of complaints by now. Are you sure your mouse wheel works in general/ is recognized by the game?

If you guys want to have the next release real quick, please feel free to creatively interprete and rewrite the Gnoll lore into a readable, fantasy-themed text. Feel free to edit out stuff you don`t understand and add new content (Google translate below).

Background game mechnics: bascically, the new gnolls metamorphose after being killed into demons.

Gnoll lore:

Since ancient times, magicians Eador know about a special magical power, hidden in the blood of sentient beings and release it when shedding.
These are necromancers, vampires create and demonology, opening the gates to the Underworld. Known this secret and demons.
But in fact, the power of which can be obtained by sacrificing a reasonable, not as great as it seems to neophytes.
Cut the myriad of his own for the crumbs - employment as boring as they are tedious even with infinite patience. But shortly before the Cataclysm one of the Lords of the Underworld I had an idea: to get someone else to cut deaths and save their strength in order to then take her with one blow.

Demons for this role is not suitable:
it is peculiar to the nature of some ... optionality, and considerable energy is spent on the creation of a full manifestation of the underworld in an orderly world, returning infrequently. Human demonology is also not suitable for the job: people even dedicated to Chaos, can not save much.

Slaves are to be executive, the slaves must be manifested and slaves must be strong. Since these creatures Eadore its diversity was not at all, they had to create. So in addition to reasonable race created by the gods, there was one generated by demons - Gnolls, brutish creatures about two meters tall, whose bodies are covered with short tan-color or spotted coat.

The accuracy is not known, what was the source material for the first Gnoll, but most of all they resemble people embarked on its hind legs hyenas. For some time now the plan unknown "master" Gnoll seemed ideal. Commit murder sentient beings, the animal-in fact, accumulated a considerable energy potential, which, however, could not use themselves, as opposed to, say, vampires. All the collected energy through ritual held leaders Gnoll packs in special facilities, now called ziggurats just entering the underworld.

However, at first gnoll it was still not enough.

And after the Cataclysm struck ...
To date, this warlike savage race with the tribal way of life has firmly taken its place among the many peoples Eador reasonable. All the same mysterious towering ziggurats, still held sacred rituals, but the "boss" (respectfully referred to as the gnolls "Unspeakable") no longer runs his flock.

Some sages believe that shortly after the Cataclysm, he was killed by other Lords of the Underworld, fearing a possible increase of its power in the future. However Gnoll themselves is of little concern.

Beastmen live as lived for centuries - attack on all who are weaker, and therefore, are in a state of war with all the world around them, so rarely enter into alliances with anyone whatsoever. They are cruel, much more powerful people physically, and in negotiations recognize only force.

Here is the text I've come up with:

Since ancient times, Wizards of Eador have known about the magic energy which is released when the blood of sentients is shed. That energy is harnessed by Necromancers to summon Vampires, and by Demonologists to open the gates of the Underworld. Demons know the secret as well. However, sacrificing a single sentient does not yield as much energy as neophytes would believe. Yet, slaughtering myriads by hand for the sake of a few crumbs is boring and tedious work, even for someone with infinite patience. But shortly before the Cataclysm, one of the Lords of the Underworld had an idea: Have someone else kill mortals and collect their energy, then claim it later at a single stroke. Demons are unsuitable for this task: By their very nature, they are untrustworthy, and sending them outside the realm of Chaos requires considerable energy, which is rarely recouped. Human demonologists are also unsuitable for the task: Humans, even those devoted to Chaos, cannot collect much. No! A proper servant should be industrious, indigenous, and strong. Since such creatures did not exist within Eador, despite its diversity, they had to be created. So in addition to reasonable race created by the gods, there was one generated by demons - Gnolls, brutish creatures about two meters tall, whose bodies are covered with short tawny or spotted fur. How the original Gnoll was created is unknown, but above all they resemble humanoid hyenas.

At first, the secret plan of the current Gnoll "master" seemed perfect. By slaughtering mortals, the beasts accumulated considerable energy, which they could not spend, as opposed to Vampires, for example. The collected energy was channeled back to the Underworld by the Gnoll pack leaders in a ritual carried out in special structures called ziggurats. However, early on, that was still not enough. And then the Cataclysm struck...

Nowadays this bellicose, savage, tribal race has thrived among the other races of Eador. The mysterious ziggurats still loom high, the sacred rituals are still carried out, but the "Master" (respectfully called the Unspeakable by the Gnolls) no longer runs the pack. Some believe that, shortly after the Cataclysm, he was killed by other Lords of the Underworld, who feared he would grow too powerful. However, this is of little concern to Gnolls themselves. These beasts live as they have for centuries - preying on the weak, and perpertually at war with the world at large, rarely forming alliances with anyone whatsoever. They are fierce, much stronger physically than Humans, in fact strength is the only thing they respect. And woe to those who stand in the way of a huge pack of Gnolls, flowing relentlessly through the lands of the various nations, making no distinction between men, dwarves and elves, plundering and killing. These creatures show no mercy and it is useless for a defeated enemy to beg for it. In battle, they disregard strategic placement by weapon type, a Gnoll only takes orders from a stronger warrior. Everyone is armed to the teeth, from clubs to elven-made swords, captured as trophies. Not surprisingly, the strategy and tactics of their military doctrine - as the vast majority of Tyrants realize - is to increase the number of soldiers and their fighting skills. For the same reason, Gnolls rarely follow any kind of battle plan, like Humans and Orcs do, they just charge into battle haphazardly.

Regards.

That looks very good. Nice job. Can't wait to try the gnolls and orcs. The orc units were kinda boring before. Never allied with them.

It generally works, but I am not sure the game recognized it, I mean apparently not. Is there anything else to scroll in the game? Is there something I have to do to turn it on?

This rhetorical tactic is called "moving the goalposts", nice try!

You are having the mouse cursor placed over the description text when you use the mouse wheel, right? In case you still have issues maybe you have an opportunity to test the game on a different system. Or you simply consider purchasing a new mouse - I am using a Cherry Gentix Corded for like 5€, mouse-wheel is recognized by the game.

jamotide: Is there anything else to scroll in the game?
AFAIK only other text descriptions, e.g. on the map clicking on the portrait of a province race opens race description.
No, mouse scrolling on any text descriptions doesnt work on my mouse either. I cant say my mouse is expensive one, but it doesnt work. (I dont care much about this issue though)
Thanks for the feedback, I don't know what to do to get it to work. But I can try other mouses on the weekend.
