I know many users have problems, the audio and the game skips and stutters, and all the workarounds (forcing single core affinity, slowing down computer) only mitigate, but not solve the problem.

I am happy to report that though I have these problems (GTX 670 + Core i5 3570K + Win7 64bit), I have found out the game runs perfectly on Wine 1.6 and 1.7 on Linux - no stutter, no skipping, perfect experience.

I know many people use just Windows, but if you have a dual boot for work like me, it's a solution.

I have nearly the same system and setting graphics to 16bit in the ini and slowing cpu down to 50-70% mitigates it completely.
