Does anyone know why the gog version of this game does not work in Win 10 x64 ?
It starts loading and just before completing the "loading line" it crashes (stopped working error).

Funnily enough I have the Steam version also and that one works. The only difference seems to be on the actual exe file but both versions are supposed to be 1.05.2 I think.

There are a few lines of text in gamelog.txt, gog version stops at the third, missing the rest:

Loading Interface.dat...
Loading Anim.dat...
Loading Prototypes...
Loading mouse.dat...
Loading skills.dat...
Loading stuff.dat...
Loading site.dat...

I'm using galaxy and it works.
Would you share how you install it?

I had the same problem. Uninstalled, then installed and ran from within Galaxy and it worked fine.

Sorry, for the slow reply, I simply installed the game, I will try using Galaxy also.
I have the same problem, only I'm on windows 7. Also installed from the offline installer. I remember that the game worked in the past. According to event manager the module that causes the crash is alleg43.dll.
See my reply to some other post here with topic "Eador Genesis alleg43.dll crash on startup".

Fix for the off-line installer seems to be to add a empty folder called "save" in the main installation directory of the game.
e.g. c:\GOG Games\Eador - Genesis
Zundara, both you and wongheiming were correct, it seems the game was crashing because of the missing save folder, GOG Galaxy creates that folder.
