Yes I'm looking at You BELETH!!!
You dirty scum sucking Astral slime spit licker.

I'm playing Eador Master of the Broken World Campaign on Beginner

A Random Tiny Shard, Turn 29, Beleth is named a "competent" opponent.
Everything is working out marvelously with my heroes until the cheap little horse whore managed to get Centaurs as allies with his stupid, utterly incompetent Level 6 Commander.

I want to know how he was able to fight back Ogres to win the Centaur's trust, How many Ogres do they normally want? How many do you find on a motherflocking TINY shard. In 29 turns?

How is he able to defeat Ogres with crap level one barbarian cannonfodder?

HOW is that supposed to work?

I want to know how he managed that?
I want to do that too, I hate cheating AI!
I playing at beginner Difficulty, if I want an unfair challenge to beat I switch the difficulty up. I want to experience the game in Baby-Mode and 29 turns for a Centaur Alliance is not Baby-Mode beginnner Difficulty.

I seriously want to console-command Beleth's Centaurs up his arse if there isn't any reasonable explanation why Beleth was able to gain the trust to recruit those TIER 2 Units in 29 turns.

AI have a chance to get alliance on moving into non-human province. Some lords have higher chances to ally specific race(Beleth+centaurs causes most whining at the moment).
Also, Vianta ALWAYS have fairy tree in her demesne, and you can expect from her commander to have tons of firewood.

So he is a horse lover after all. :-D
I would have expected more Skeletons, or heck even one Vampire, as his superpower, but this "feels" like cheap cheating. Don't know why, maybe just my personal preference, I think because I had difficulties becoming an ally of the Centaurs on many shards.

Why did the programmers implement the random chance to get an alliance by simply moving into the terrain only for the AI. There should be a possiblity for the player as well. Those missions seriously take up too much time on small shards. Medium or larger might work pretty well but if you want to rush for the enemy stronghold you can't chase down quests for allies.

I'm not good at programming but the logic behind the sequence seems quite clear.

Quest for getting an Alliance with Cenaturs? Check
Province with Ogres on site? Check
Getting trampled by Ogers? Check
Rinse and Repeat...
Centaur quest fullfilled.
Build Centaur upgrades? Check
Recruit Centaurs.

(I know there are strategies bring them down easily, but how does a beginner now that?)

That makes far more sense. I would expect tree huggers from her, but if she brings unicorns on turn 30 or less I would be upset as well... (Still talking about Beginner difficulty)

Anyway, Thank you for your time. You have been a great help explaining why this happend, now the interesting bit:
Is there a way to counter that?
Are there any console commands, mods or cheat codes to change that province into Goblin/Slug Territory?

More importantly:
If I replay the shard, starting from scratch, is there a chance he will get trampled by the very Centaurs he is in bed with now?
So I restarted the shard, dropped any notion of fairness and good karma and went with the Barbaric Dark Side, hired a Commander gave him a barbarian horde that probably made Attila or Ghenghis Khan look like Kindergarten kids.

Not the way I wanted to play that Shard, but the Barbarians are really effiecent units, on beginner Difficulty I even hired two monks to keep them alive, as I didn't need any thugs. The commander was healing, casting web and Astral - "One More Turn+Stamina" spell.
While Beleth was already allied with those damnable Centaurs he was unable to recruit them this time, hitting turn 29 I already found myself besieging his Castle, no sight of Tier II Units...

No more province expansion, making the population happy and well fed, just simple invasion, conquering and overrunning the enemy.
