Welp, the current game just crashed. All the tooltips disappeared during battle, and then all the dialog boxes were scrambled so I was unable to save the game, or exit normally. Had to activate the Program Manager and kill the process.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU..................
And now we're back to the "Access violation" bug. Crash, crash, crash.

This isn't any more stable than 1.6.1.
For those who don't know, "Eador: Masters of the Broken Worlds" is a 3D remake of an older Russian game, "Eador: Genesis".

There is an active mod of Genesis called "New Horizons", which is updated 2-3 times a year.

If you love Eador, and enjoy old-school graphics, you should give New Horizons a try.

gscotti: Who is that?

Boon952: He coded everything himself, and I think he also did the graphics? (Gremlion, is that true?)
He was also a consultant for MotBW (which must have broken his heart).
I recall that he did graphic in pre-Genesis game in the same setting, and his friend drew portraits for overlords basing on his drawings.
Sprites and music iirc were outsourced.
Here are pictures of the early graphics and sketches (and Alex):

I have few links to articles discussing Eador:

And again with another Invalid Pointer Operation, and no progressing the shard :(

Done with the game (again), at least until it gets patched.
This isn't working. I am not sure if the patch improved on stability at all compared to 1.6.0. At least my level of frustration is identical if not higher.

I'd be curious to hear your opinions on this: do you think there's any improvement in stability?
In my experience it hasn't. The trouble seems to be that these bugs are variable and inconsistent. I managed to play rather far into the campaign (most tier 4 stuff unlocked) after it first released, when other people where running into problems left & right and cursing the game. Then I ran into a game breaking issue and couldn't get around it and gave up on the game for ages. Coming back to the game a couple weeks ago, I haven't been able to get past 8 shards without the game continually crashing on me. The latest patch hasn't fixed anything for me unfortunately, but people's mileage may vary.
