Please help? I don't know what key does what, and blindly fumbled my way to the character generation screen via the esc key---and half the time mashing it took me back to the intro video.

You mainly use the mouse to interact with Ravenloft games. For party movement I suggest the num pad. The games come with pdf manuals, that explain all that. (And with cluebooks, in case someone gets stuck.)
