kesavanss: done it

run it on 640x480 mode

no more DKII.DX.EXE error
Tried downloading the patch - still getting the DKII.DX.EXe error;
My laptop (Samsung series 7 ultra) doesn't have a display resolution that low! so I can't change the laptop settings
Tried running the game in 640x480 mode but still crashed. Ah well.

I'll just have to cotent myself with the rather disappointing android version on my tablet. Sigh.

Are GOG actually going to fix this?

Glad the game wasn't very expensive to buy!

Worked for me in combination with XP(SP3).

Thanks

That's great and all, but with the 640x480 resolution the game is unplayable, lest you're playing with binoculars.

I dunno its been a while since I played but it was always on a high enough resolution with the sides chopped.
I changed my resolution to the lowest possible on my graphics card. 1024x768 and it worked great. I think the last time I played this game I had around a 100MHz Pentium and not much of a video card. It plays great now even at the lower resolution. The best $3 dollars I have spent in a long time.

Setting it to 640x480 made it so it would not crash right as I selected the map, but it still crashes directly after finishing the first level. I have it on compatability Windows 7, also tried xp (sp3) and 98, it will not allow me to advance beyond level 1.

Tried the patch as well.

devilhood: This is an old thread, and the problem has been solved already.

http://timeslip.users.sourceforge.net/temp/DK2-patch-v4.7z

Extract the new patch.dll and copy it over the existing one in your GOG Dungeon Keeper 2 folder.

Here is my config file in case it helps http://www.mediafire.com/download/l2v9uehi9wi4jrr/GOG.7z
The config file is located in c:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\GOG\DungeonKeeper2\ My one has antialiasing and anisotropy enabled.

Make sure you load the game using only DKII-DX.exe otherwise the patch will not work.
Thanks for the post, but the patch is no longer available or has been corrupted; when I attempt to open it I get an "Incorrect command line" error, even when not attempting any command lines. Any ideas on how to get the patch? None of the suggestions on this thread have worked for me.
