Witam!
Mam problem z Dungeon KeeperFX
Google trans.
Hello!
I have a problem with Dungeon KeeperFX
After installing the 0.4.5 version KeeperFX game starts at the desired resolution, but I do not have music.
In version 0.4.6 KeeperFX have music and I can not change the resolution. The game starts only at 640 and 1024 higher longer.
I have tried various ways to do this manually change the cfg and gives nothing.

; Three frontend resolutions: failsafe, movies and menu resolution.
FRONTEND_RES=1024x768x32 1024x768x32 1024x768x32
; Original DK resolutions were FRONTEND_RES=320x200x8 320x200x8 640x480x8
; List of in-game resolutions. ALT+R will switch between them.
INGAME_RES=1024x768x32 1680x1050x32 1920x1080x32
;Original DK resolutions were INGAME_RES=320x200x8 640x400x8

PS. I know that the resolution switches the Alt + R. I wrote that version 0.46 supports me 1024 graphics and music. Higher resolutions do not support me ?. However, in version 0.45 supports higher resolutions like me and my music does not work, although I have included the launcher -nocd. I suspect that the problem lies in keeperfx.dll, turning it between the versions pops up an error. I posted version 0.46 some config that are stored higher resolution, and they can not be set.

In 0.4.5 get music by putting a cd in the primary (virtual) disk drive with the music on it.

In 0.4.6 the resolution change should work the same. Are you on the main version or nightly build? Press Alt+R.
ALT+R is broken on the two latest nightly builds. You should use KeeperFX r1906 patch.

You don't have DirectX.
Use launcher to change video output of the game to "windib".
Odd, dxdiag.exe says I have DirectX 11
I followed the instructions to get the music working but no matter what I do I just can't get it to work. Copied the files to the music folder, changed the command line, and changed the settings in the launcher, just doesn't do it.
I'm getting crazy flickering on the videos, menu and in-game. Any suggestions? Tried almost every resolution. Doesn't flicker in Windowed mode, but I can't center the window. Is the flickering V-Sync related?

Make sure your tracks are named correctly or use the ones I've just uploaded here:
http://www.gog.com/forum/dungeon_keeper_series/dk1_music_in_flac_format_request/post3

It looks like a bit of a bug or something that's been overlooked; or maybe it's intentional to launch the game with Launcher.exe everytime.

Make a desktop shortcut of KeeperFX.exe

Right click -> Properties.

Into the Target field, add:

-nocd (to use ogg music)

Hit OK & Play.

Other useful choices are:

-nointro (to skip intro)
-vidsmooth (adds a blur effect to improve GFX)

The -nocd music option isn't being stored in the keeperfx.cfg file Tomasz. (neither are -nointro and -vidsmooth)

Resolution options are being stored.

Starting the game through the Launcher.exe makes the game start with the set options.

Launching the game directly with KeeperFX.exe (after setting options in Launcher) seems to skip the options entirely!

It looks like this behavior is by design. Aren't they technically config options? Does the configuration tool need a bit of an overhaul?

Can anyone tell me how to open the game.gog file?

People are saying that it's the ISO and that inside of it are all of the files needed to start keeper.

Every-time I try to start "keeperfx.exe" I get the following error:

---------------------------
Dungeon Keeper Fan eXpansion
---------------------------
Setting up game failed.
This error in 'LbBullfrogMain' makes the program unable to continue. See 'keeperfx.log' for details.

You can follow the steps in the OP to install the game, but if you don't want to you can use the launcher application or install the game manually by copying the proper files over to your KeeperFX folder. You can open the game.gog file by renaming it to something.iso and opening it with either a virtual disc drive like WinCDEmu/Deamon Tools or a tool like 7zip.
More information on the launcher or which files to copy to your KeeperFX folder can be found here.

However, if you've followed all steps in the OP and your game still doesn't work there might be some other problem. Look into your log file for a clue or share the log-file here.
Hi all. When I mount game.gog and point KeeperFX to its existence numerous .dat files are missing. In looking at game.gog (or iso as I have renamed it) I can clearly see most of the dat's are missing.

What am I doing wrong?

On the other hand, if I simply unzip KeeperFX into my DK directory and run the game it work, however; the ALT-R key only blinks and returns to its very low res. I am not receiving any errors at any time.

I would assume this is due to KeeperFX not being installed properly?

Also, I am using a 750 Ti.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
You can find the files KeeperFX needs from the GOG/original release here.

You can use the launcher application described in the same link to configure the resolutions the game may switch between. By default there are just low-res options.

Thanks. The location you linked is the same where I acquired the names of the necessary files for Keeper FX. That list is the reason I knew that the game.gog file shown in my DK folder (directly following installation) does not contain all specified files. I have re-downloaded the latest GOG installation package 3x's and the needed files remain missing from game.gog.

This revelation is solidified when I point Keeper FX to the game.gog mounted Keeper folder and Keeper FX returns a message advising what files are missing from my game.gog iso keeper folder.

With regard to the resolutions, I set those up using the Keeper FX option and confirmed my selections are contained within the config file, however; in game Alt-R only shows low resolutions. Again, I believe the cause of that issue is the aforementioned missing files from game.gog.
